In terms of quality, LV can be placed higher in the chart. My personal experience is that the bags bought generally has no issues. If there is any issues, I definitely can either get the issue fixed/exchanged. And years later (ie even more than 10 years later), I can have it serviced (for a fee). I feel very ‘safe’ with my purchase at LV. Chanel is placed at correctly at its place in terms of quality. I do not feel ‘safe’ with my purchase at a Chanel store. I need to unbox my purchase asap and double and triple check before the return period (which in my mind is 3 days) cos I will not have proper aftersales service later.s Hence, the contributing factors to a luxury purchase are: 1. Quality of the product 2. Sales service (only recently queuing in line to enter stores is part of the luxury experience - so strange) 3. After sales service 4. Warranty And for me - the assurance of quality (backed by after sales service) is paramount.
LV is in the right position. I've bought new bags that came with the vachetta leather wrinkled and the hardware already tarnished. They don't even use solid brass hardware anymore, more like cheap painted metal. For a fraction of the price, my Coach and Tory Burch bags seem to wear better than LV. I still like LV, but I mainly collect pre 2012 bags, which is when the quality was still good.
@@jy3754 I purchased a handful of LV bags 2021-2022 and then stopped. All but one I was able to inspect in store, request Made in France, etc. I was very picky. The ones I ended up with had no flaws. However, I purchased a DE speedy and the lock tarnished just sitting in my closet, when I hadn't even worn it once 😂 I brought it into the store and they switched out the lock for me, but that one also tarnished. Since that time, I would only buy an LV bag with very little hardware as you can't trust it. Another issue is that when you purchase a larger canvas bag, it has been folded up and the creases need to come out over time (which they don't always do). Otherwise my experience with the quality has been fine. I'm still pretty done with LV.
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the lyxbag leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
I was trying to find a secondhand hermes bag but I would say the condition are not great for the crazy price, I think the vintage ones could look good if they are rarely used, but the used one is as battered as any other brand. So I'm not sure if hermes quality is that much different.
This is a great point - how a bag wears over time will of course depend on how much it is used and how it is treated! Hard to factor this in unless one individual has owned the bags and used them sort of equally.
Thanks for your thoughts! In my opinion, LV’s quality should be ranked higher based on my experience buying leather and canvas bags from the boutiques over the last few years.
I am lucky enough to own 4 Loro Piana bags - 2 L19's, one back back and one bale bag. I find the quality of the leather to be up there with my birkin. They also make the world's most comfortable shoes. I can't stress that enough lol
Hi Jess! ❤ Wow, kind of like the food pyramid, but with luxury stuff! Lol. I feel like Asprey and Boucheron need to be on that top level too. At least for jewelry. 😊
I was at Valentino event 3 nights ago I promise u 45 ppl had Hermes bags like uniform so not worth it anymore looks so tacky now 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Watching your videos always makes me fall in love with luxury brand bags all over again. There’s been too much negative vibe surrounding too many anti-luxury minimalism and the like videos lately *preluxs*
Hi Jess! I really liked the concept of this video, great idea 💕 As someone who purchased two Loewe Puzzle bags in 2019 I feel absolutely compelled to say that the quality of these bags is second to none, definitely not second to Hermes (it was known as the Spanish Hermes). I used the medium black Puzzle as a main bag for years in all kinds of weather and it still looks brand new, which random people comment on. The construction was unbelievable... the leather was thick and durable yet soft. HOWEVER... now that it's under the LVMH umbrella, and how they've changed the design of the puzzle to be more cheaply made, I wouldn't trust it as much, sadly. My favorite brand has been Celine over the last year or so - I have the Triomphe, the Heloise, and the 16 and the quality of these bags is amazing (the leathers, the stitching, the edge coating, the Triomphe clasp is made with real gold). Celine also under LVMH so 🤷🏻♀ As for Moynat and Delvaux - I love So Anesu's channel as she has educated me a lot on these brands that don't get much love on YT. She had previously put these brands in the same category as Hermes so I made sure to get into these boutiques in Paris last summer. Delvaux quality really struck me, but it had been purchased by Richemont not long before so this could impact the quality. Anesu has also commented on Moynat, that with no creative director currently and some other tidbits that have been released regarding where/how the bags are made, things have shifted quite a bit. She was just in a boutique and said that they had Rejane bags on sale, and at least one had a visible tear in the leather near the handle.
I think of Balenciaga, while in the past it was a very elegant brand, I think it has become the rich rapper brand. The Urban drug money brand. I would never wear it now even if it hadn’t had that bad ad campaign.
The way you present it! You really focused on introducing this package. I don't think there is any other TH-camr who shows off bags in as much detail as you do *preluxs* .
First? Edited to add: thanks for the vid Jess, it was very interesting. I live in a more remote part of the world where the closest boutiques to any of these major brands are thousands of miles away. But there’s still quite a few women with LV bags.
What about Goyard and Celine in the ranking? From personal experience I think Saint Laurent’s customer service was pretty bad; full of attitude and the designs of their bags are becoming a bit boring.
I'm going to put them both in mid range perception...i have heard goyard canvas does not feel THE BEST so maybe they would be lower than celine in quality?? hard to rank because I have never had a goyard or celine bag hehe
@@Jessiestyle I've heard the same thing about Goyard canvas, and that Faure Le Page and Moreau's coated canvas feels better, but I've never tried out bags from either brand myself. I do have a coated cavas Longchamp Le Pliage bag that I'm really happy with, and it doesn't feel flimsy at all.
I purchased 3 Celine bags (all leather) in last year and they are impeccable. I can't speak to longer term wear and tear, of course. I think Celine remains a hidden gem though certain bags have been very prominent in recent years.
I am surprised to see Coach, Michael Kors and MarcJacobs on any tier on Super Opulent’s graph! And Givenchy is on the fourth tier??? Below Goyard and Miu Miu?? It’s interesting that the ease of getting the bag affects the brand’s perception. I had not thought of that! I would still place Dior as highly perceived (but that is just my emotions-I love that brand). Reluctantly agree (🥲) about Chanel’s brand perception being the best-quality of the bag notwithstanding! I agree with the quality ranking. I have seen so many bad pictures of LV bags and the stitching becoming undone! I still like the brand (yes, I am a 🤡). I really enjoyed this video! Lots of fun food for thought💕
Loewe was one of the major sponsors of the Met Gala. That's why so many people (including Anna Wintour) were wearing Loewe.

I wish there was more brands included like D&G, Givenchy, McQueen, Prada, Balmain, etc
haha yes!! the video would take too long!~sorry about that!
I missed Céline

Jess, you are so creative with the ideas you come up with for videos!! Very clever you are ❤❤❤❤❤
Where would you rank Celine. I love Celine bags.
Maybe somewhere in the middle?!! I have never owned a celine bag!!

@elizabethandrews4199 because ricky bags are the absolutely the best ever
@@jaks_bag_attackI’m interested in getting one. I like the designs of the RL bags
I agree with this. Your explanation from different perspectives is quite fair. Leowe is really pushing their name out there but not my personal fave.
Loved your top three brands. I totally agree! Great overview.
I think that Gucci’s quality is better than u rated. I would put them up one..in fact my Gucci wear way better than my Bottega.
Jess we need more brands here!! 😂 And maybe photoshop the logos to be more visible some are cut off! Nice video
Great talk!❤
This ranking is odd. Dior isnt higher than lv. I was in the market for Delvaux but the box leather creases.
Idk if certain brands are popular that I'm not aware of because I'm always watching videos on certain fashion houses
I really enjoyed hearing about other brands with the same quality as Hermes.
I think Chanel is riding on past glory.
Some say Delvaux surpasses Hermes in terms of quality.
What about Prada? I’ve found Gucci to have very good quality.
Curious about Chloe & Jimmy Choo as someone with narrow feet who is over the medium width focus of these brands…

I would put loewe as forgotten, not keen on them. High end fashion is highly perceived as economy is 💩.
