I started out pretty far ahead, like you, but have fallen behind in Week 2 (I was traveling and then got sick... boo). The whole goal here is exactly what you said, you just have to "force" yourself to sit down and write! You have to keep the goal in mind, and work every day at it!

I haven’t participated in NaNoWriMo since 2019. I wrote 80k words in 14 days because I was leaving on vacation and wanted to finish my book before I went. I’ve always drafted pretty fast. I feel like writing is a muscle. You got to work it. Write every single day. Even if it’s 500 words. Or 30 minutes. Set a timer. Write. And if you get 150 words then awesome. For me, setting a timer makes a huge difference. I can “force” myself to write for 20-25 minutes. Then I can do something fun. I also knit. I’m making socks 😊

I totally agree, the more you do something and the more that thing becomes a habit the easier it is to do the thing. Timers are one of the best motivators!
