Only problem is I have to be careful since we have bears, mountain lions, snakes and coyotes. The most dangerous thing though is humans.
I did this walk in reverse just after lockdown 1. I camped at Stanage Edge - more fortunate with the weather than your good self. Great video - thanks for taking us along !!
As good as ever Chris well done. Me and the wife cycled UP to Stanage Edge from our caravan in Hope a couple of months ago and it nearly killed the pair of us! Nice to see it again from your view. Keep up the beer reviews too!

Good that you are managed to get continual and good content going. With lockdown and Tier 3 restrictions I have only only been out 3 times in the last 3 months, so going stir crazy here. Info on Cut Throat Bridge: The lurid name of Cutthroat Bridge on the A57 out of Sheffield is justly deserved. Around 400 years ago a man was discovered in Highshaw Clough (locally pronounced Eashaw Clough) with his throat cut. A local man, Robert Ridge along with two others took the victim to Bamford Hall where he dies two days later. Hi Chris. Great vid. Appreciated. Epic scenery even in Winter. Really liked the soundtrack to this one too. What Fjallraven jacket are you wearing? Looks like a Keb, but looks different to mine. By the way, way intrigued with the USB rechargeable hand warmers you were showcasing recently, so picked up a couple. Got to say, very impressed with them. Always thought they were gimmicks, but was very pleasantly surprised. Happy Christmas mate, looking forward to the 2021 productions. Stay safe.
It's an older Keb mate - rate the hood and movement in it. I thought the same re the handwarmer, thought it might be a fad - but as you say, they work well! I have two to give away - so I'm sure someone will enjoy that. ATB
Thanks Joe, I've got various jackets by them and other manufacturers which I've built up over the years - this one is nice and light. Not fully waterproof but very breathable and allows for good movement. Almost silent too. ATB
Alright Mike, cheers. Filmed this one on the GoPro due to the rain, I've got an EOS M50 now, sold the A6300 just because I wanted to do focus pulls on the videos and the touch screen came in handy for that. Have a good Christmas with plenty of Abbot 🍺

Thanks for watching Alan - yeah haha, I've got my fingers crossed that the names drawn out are all UK based 😂 that said, I don't mind posting to any location. We certainly do need to keep the old head warm mate - hope you manage to get out soon pal - what a year. ATB 👍
Nice one Chris. We did that route the opposite way round over two days with a camp on Bamford Edge. Long route. You did well for an 'old' guy! Nice atmospheric video. Cheers.
Thanks Anthony, spotted a few top locations for a wild camp! ATB and have a good Christmas
Hi Chris - cracking video as always! What’s the lovely jacket you are wearing? Looks the business!
Thanks for watching mate, coat is one from the collection over the years by Fjällraven 👍
Great content as ever Chris. Fingers crossed for the 10k subs by the end of 2020...the quality of the the channel certainly deserves more.
Thanks Benny, fingers crossed - a little goal I had set 👍 no worries if not 🗻
Cracking video, can you please tell me where abouts you parked and started from. Much appreciated PJ 👍

Another great video mate. Thank you 👍 Is that a new jacket? Your videos have kept me going this year mate so thank you
Alright mate, sadly not - new purchases have been off the agenda for me for a while - I've got a fair few items of outdoor gear which I've amassed over the years. Thanks for watching and ATB 👍
Great vid... I see you came across Fred Flintstone' wheels
Haha, I take it they're all old millstone wheels - why are they dotted randomly around ?
@@MCMOutdoors Very odd and random location for them to be. They also looked more rounded than ones I've seen before, but yea agree that's what they must be
Nice one Chris. Still never been up there. Might try a cheeky WildCamp this week if I can muster the bravery to get out in the rain 😂😂😂
Haha, weather looks rough this week! Let's get out! Enjoy mate!
@@MCMOutdoors I’m out! ⛺️
👍👍👍
Love that jacket pal 👌🏻
Thanks for watching - can't have enough outdoor gear! Will be a while before I can make any new purchases I think - unless Fjällraven are kind enough to send me some 😅
Get yourself signed up to the Fjallraven Polar challenge Chris! If you're successful in gaining a place they give you a full expedition kit.
@@benny_mc if I didn't have to go to work I'd have a blast at that ! ATB mate
Another fantastic video mate, that music goes well with it. Fjallraven have some amazing kit. Keep up with the vids. All the very best and stay safe.
Cheers Dai, thanks for watching and have a great Christmas pal 👍
Next time there’s a really nice old coaching inn Called Strines Inn, was a favourite of mine until I moved south.
Sounds good - bring on the opening of the pubs - missing them. ATB

Cement works are in Hope.

Belter video mate thank you! fingers crossed I will be doing a little midweek one up Angle Tarn , can't wait , I actually waxed my boots while I watched this, like the new Blue Fjallraven Coat , what 's it called? don't recognise the red Fjallraven hat at the end though, not listed on the website !
Haha, thanks for watching mate. Good that you've done your boots! Coat isn't new mate, I've got a fair few different bits and pieces. Fingers crossed for your wild camp mate.
In more recent times (December 1995) a Sheffield man Anthony Antoniou and two accomplices beheaded Antoniou’s own stepfather Walter McCarthy then dumped the body at Cutthroat Bridge and burying the head in Bedfordshire. Antoniou was the lover of pop singer Gabrielle, the two have a child together. peakedinterest.co.uk/2016/06/11/cutthroat-bridge/
Top info from the man as always 👍

Hi Chris.
ATB
I’m sure the recipient will be thrilled with them Chris. ATB
Another cracking video Chris, what ap do you use for route mapping
I use OS maps mate and also use the official os mapping app 👍
i think you are right winn hill was straight in front of you i think
Yeah I checked on the map mate - it was! Lovely views on this one in places.
@@MCMOutdoors done winn hill a few time but never the one you did ill put it in my xmas trip out list
Enjoy mate 🍺👍
Great video Chris thanks for all your efforts in inspiring us. Here’s hoping you get to 10k 👍 Anything we can do to help apart from the thumbs up?
Thanks Les - appreciate that mate ! I don't think so - other than spread the word! ATB mate and have a great Christmas!
Brilliant vid again Chris, what’s the song at 8:42? It’s absolutely brilliant 😀
Alright mate - nice one. It's called "My Dear' by Velvet Moon - they're an ace group - really harmonious and chilled. ATB
@@MCMOutdoors thanks pal.....tremendous sound, really is 👍👍

Haha, like fish and chips mate! Thanks for watching and have a good Christmas 🍺👍
Whats your thoughts on the fjallraven jacket. Good vid as always
Thanks Joe, I've got various jackets by them and other manufacturers which I've built up over the years - this one is nice and light. Not fully waterproof but very breathable and allows for good movement. Almost silent too. ATB
@@MCMOutdoors ok thanks i will look it up cheers
Great atmospheric walk Chris, really enjoyed it. Stanage Edge takes me back to some great climbing trips. Are you still using the Sony 6300?
Alright Mike, cheers. Filmed this one on the GoPro due to the rain, I've got an EOS M50 now, sold the A6300 just because I wanted to do focus pulls on the videos and the touch screen came in handy for that. Have a good Christmas with plenty of Abbot 🍺
New jacket?
No mate, I've got a few - like to mix them up a bit, managed to collect a load of outdoor gear over the past 25 years. 👌
Elvis juice 😁
A fine brew for the hill! ATB
LOL Elvis Juice 22:49
😁🍺
@@MCMOutdoors Chris, I was finally able to get your video embedded. www.bleacherrats.com/2020/12/13/bamford-stanage-edges-circular-hike-the-peak-district-national-park/
That Elvis Juice seemed to be all shook up!
😅🤣😂🍺👌👍
Great idea hiding the giveaway! I have seen a few around many channels I follow and it’s nearly always some random new sub that’s not done a stitch for the channel that wins, and then they unsub after LOL
Exactly mate - people scour YT for giveaways
No wild camps mate?
Not until the rules change mate no 🤷🏻♂️
@@MCMOutdoors just say it's for essential travel and mental well being 💯💯👍
Good morning Chris. Another great video. Not sure how you can walk 7 miles on those slippery slopes, but ionteresting to watch. I was going to try and help you with generating new subscribers but your videos are not able to embed. I wanted to embed on my website BleacherRats.com but not able to do so. At any rate, great video and take care of yourself.
Cheers Lew, embedding is enabled so not sure why! Let me know if you find any info our re "Cut Throat Bridge" - have a great Christmas pal 🍺
