you need spacers mate. try a spark plug socket the ones with the nut shape on the end and a torx 45 through the center and use a spanner on the spark plug socket
I always used to be a VAG fan and now when I need a car, I was looking at a fourth generation of VW Golf, but because you can do something nice with Astra H, I might get it instead of a Golf. You don't need to do much for it to look amazing. If the paint is looking good, then all you need is nice wheels and you just got to lower the suspension. Nice vid.
i miss your astra bro was so sick, id love it if you could do like a reunion video where you get all the cars youve had in one place! that would be so sweet haha 😁
Really enjoyed this vid, I used to be in the car scene I enjoyed it, do what you have to mate its seems you give it 100% effort, when you tighten bolts torque them down not up and put a piece of old carpet on floor in case you slip and punch the floor. Driveway modding is always the most difficult but most rewarding :)
Been driving these cars from 17, an astra h ex police car was my first and I'm buying my 5th astra I'm nearly 19 now 😂😂😂 best cars about and they suit me down to a t
I just don't really understand why you went all the way to remove the strutbearing and cover when I would've just ordered 2 new ones and put them on your new struts. Those old strut bearings might soon fail and you'll find yourself battling the same fight to replace those bearings on your newe struts.
Just did my coilovers on my astra and I used my mates plug in impact gun made everything so much easier and he only paid like 80 quid for it so might be good to get one of them mate
yo lee did u have a LED bulbs ? if u did could you tell me how to fix mine cuz when i instal them and light up the left one (EU) the driver side turns off :(
Old vid I know but you can usually hold the shock shaft with an allen key whilst you undo the top nut, save you fucking about with the impact gun and all that other bollocks.
Next time mate tighten your wheel nuts up with the breaker bar, it makes it so much easier and it will save you fucking up the mechanism in the ratchet
Detail_boy it works in some cases but on this car everything was just rusted together so it didn't help! Thanks mate haha! Just a grafter aren't I really, need that cash haha
you know the rear coilover adjusters, did you leave the rubber part on under it or did you just sit it down on the Axle? I couldn't get mine to fit for some reason so I just put the adjusters on bare metal and it's knocking haha
yeah i had to same problem i couldn't get it to fit so i left it off, and to be honest i heard the same knocking noise (like the spring was almost flying off) hahaha.. my advice would be to make a slit down the middle of the rubber bit, that would give it enough movement to slide in and fit..
+itsLeeLockwood cheers mate, it's either that or the spring binding, I'm hoping its that so I can sort it but pain in the ass it does sound pretty bad haha
@@seancorrigan3531 for starters, you really replying to a 3 yr old comment lmao. And yes they’re coilovers. Lowering springs aren’t adjustable, coil overs are. These are clearly coilovers
@@zoesmith1755 Didn't look at how old the comment was because I don't care. Also that's not what make them coil overs lmao, they're just adjustable lowering springs mate. What exactly is that rear spring "coiling" over? Idiot.
@@seancorrigan3531 come on don’t be dim 😂 these Astras have separate shocks and springs on the back. no one mentioned talking about the rears did they 🤦🏼♀️ I’m not arguing with you over something I commented 3 years ago lmao. They’re coilovers. Get educated and get back to me in another 3 years 👍🏼
bimmerlover98 well we get absolutely raped with insurance prices. And unfortunately we can't go and buy S13's for next to nothing.. a lad at the age of 20 for a fast car will have to pay around £4000/5000.. so we have to be creative and make do
thats extortionate. Have a ring around to companies, i was getting quoted £4000 through comparison websties with all my mods declared. I rang around and the second phone call i made offered me £1100 with all mods declared, 21 and 1 years no claim on a Fiesta ST.

John Z thanks mate! Yeah I really need a torque wrench to be honest 😂

Hi did your car have in the continuous damping control shock absorbers in? And if so does it pose a problem for your sport button
Can buy coilovers but can't by a torque wrench lol they're like 30 quid

Marcus Boyce yeah I do usually, I was too hungover to function properly haha
You'd of been fine if you'd of don't the top first?
Detail_boy you mean loosened the top nut whilst it was on the car?

Will These work on my 2008 Saturn astra 4 door?
I never knew 4 door Astra's existed, only 3 doors and 5 doors

The purps goes back a long way ay 😉

Nearly £3,000 a year for my 1.9 CDTI 120 Astra. And that's with 2 years ncb and 21.

Is that with or without a black box?
without!
