This is my favorite song, mainly because it sounds beautifully somber no matter the form of music it’s portrayed in. Orchestra, choir, solo, violin, piano, and even electric guitar! Lillium suits them all, and manages to bring the same overwhelming emotion into each rendition.
I am studying orchestral composition, and I've come to realize that genuinely evocative melodies can actually outweigh bombast in many ways. Currently, the pieces I've been most struck by are this one and Vogel im Käfig (from Attack on Titan). Both melodies are not only gorgeous, but deeply meaningful, even if there were no accompaniment. Does anybody have any suggestions to add to that list?
Davy Jones theme from pirates of the caribbean, there are others but i cannot remember them now, but I can at least give you base music that can become orchestral if you want. Converting normal music to orchestral is the best way to learn how to make them. Just listen for the support of the music and emulate that, then the melody fills in naturally.
theme from mumen rider from one punch man although not orchestra a very good instrumental and a very small part of a 2 min theme if u listen u will know wich part orochimaru theme wich has bach tocatta and fuga clannad "town, flow of time, people" one of the most sentimental musics i've ever heard loneliness is brought from our souls if you listen
