Thank you! 2 people have told me to breath out, 2 people have told me to breath in. I’ve always found it slightly easier to exalt to breath. But, some of my attempted teacher are like, “No, you can’t breath out to whistle” or something. You are a much better teacher than my friends. I’ve still only whistled once, not including using my hands.

Don't worry if you can do it once you can do it again. It's just muscle memory and you have to get used to it.

Also, if you can inhale whistle, you can produce a bit of spit so that it hits the roof and the center of your tongue just a little. Then inhale

I think, by doing the bird whistle the tongue isn't moving ;) but if you want to try the " cricket sound " ( later ) there you need to move your tongue.

hi could you give me some advice? ive been trying to whistle my whole life and im still having trouble. how is your tongue meant to look like when your whistling and for the bird sound? and how much pressure do you have on your cheeks? cause my mouth hurts after a few minutes thanks
It's a late answer but still an answer:
Actually you don't need ANY pressure on your cheeks. It's a little less air than when you exhale from your mouth. Try in and exhaling like when the doctor wants you to exhale. Take that airflow and make it less.
And your tongue (for the beginning) shouldn't move at all. What i realize when whistling is that i sometimes touch my lower front teeth.

So, a little back story, I've been able to whistle since I was just a small boy, say around 7 and 8 (currently 17 now) and I feel I'm fairly good at it. I'm able to control my whistles very well, I can do high pitch, low pitch, I can do a cricket noise through exhale whistling, I can do a lot. about a year ago, I learned that not everyone whistle via exhaling and I was just flabbergasted. It seemed unreal to inhale to whistle. I've been floating around many different videos, been practicing for hours every day for the last month or two and I can't figure it out. I need help learning to whistle in or whatever!!! I CANT DO IT!!!!

YO I can cricket whistle, but I use a different technique. If you can't click roll (like me) you can use an outward breath for the whistle to vibrate your uvula instead. Glhf everyone

Both work but inhaling sounds better IMO. But that's subjective since all of our mouths are built different

Oh, forgot to mention, all my teachers told me not to use my teeth. The first time I successfully whistled was when I discarded their advise and used my teeth.

I can never whistle on the exhale it's always been on the inhale, when I blow out it just sounds like a leaky bike tire
If you can whistle one way you can whistle both ways trust me. Just keep practicing the same technique try positioning your lips different
@@DontaeCatlett I've been practicing the cricket sound for the past few days and i've gotten it pretty close, I found for me that curling the tip of my tongue helps get the whistle sound for the cricket
