I agree with so much of what you said about the ride. The overwhelming factor Is the number of crashes. I saw a few and add that to what you saw and what everyone else saw and it adds up to close to carnage

Yeah, seems a bit hectic, congestion, crashes, sirens, ambulances ufff...
Much better to do longish rides with your buddies and seek those routes out.

Just be mindful of riding in tight group not everyone is going to shout out potholes and street furniture. Feel free to use the whole road it is a closed road event.
I have to agree with your assessment of Ride London, Aky - I never got out of the big ring, no hills, and really quite boring. I’ll not do that one again, but would definitely do Etape Caledonia again, a far better ride. I was lucky enough to stay away from any crashes though. Take care, fella 👍

No idea some Air BnB in Ilford. Wasn’t the best to be honest but I was crashing their on the sofa so can’t complain and credit to the lads for having me literally last minute.

Planning on doing this next year for charity
As planning to get back on the bike after a year out
Easy route to be honest so doable with not that much training especially if you use the feed stations

Box hill is overrated. Other than the fact it has a couple of switch backs and smooth surface, that's about it. I'd much rather climb Holme Moss.!
