    Tiling tips, FIRST THINGS FIRST. From the beginning. I give many basic tile installation tips in this video, from the very first thing you should do when starting a tile job with a new tub, to waterproofing tips for common problem areas, and layout and tile leveling system tips, and more. Lots of videos that deal with installing tile, here I try to give a lot of common sense installation advice and simple things that can be done to make the job move ahead smoothly. All tile installed by Sal DiBlasi, Elite-tile Company, in the Boston North Shore area. This video contains affiliate links, which means I will receive a small commission if you click on the product link.

    That’s fine Sal tiling past the side panel, as long as you can get it off if you need to do maintenance under the bath 🧐!!!

    Sal why not just put the du-rock horizontal, then you would have studs.

    Man Sal I've been using that tile so much lately. Last place they wanted it on the bathroom floors. That stuff is like ice when it's wet. I don't know if I'd want it on a bathroom floor

    Thanks for all your videos Sal. I have foam backerboard left over from a previous bathroom remodel. I am remodeling another bathroom that has two interior walls and one shared wall (townhome). Is it acceptable to mix materials? That is, to use the foam backerboard on the two interior walls and cement board on the shared wall (to meet fire code)? My research shows that the foam backerboard is not fire rated.

      @SalDiBlasi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, use Schluter Sheet membrane on the backer boar. that will keep your warrantee intact.

    Hey Sal.....what do you think about unsanded grout in a 3/16" grout line with marble tile?
    Getting ready to grout and didn't do enough research. Don't want to scratch the tile.

    I can tel Sal has been around a while by his first tip. He's bang on correct. Always, ALWAYS follow this tip. The amount of times i've pulled dust sheets out of baths/shower trays and found screws, nails, bit's of brick, all sorts. Tread on that, damage the bath, and it's your fault.

    Are you not confident enough to get tiles flat on a level wall, without using that system? The customers could be doing their own work.

    • @SalDiBlasi

      You don't understand leveling systems, or you would not ask that question. Use every tool at your disposal to make the job better and faster.

      @@ceramictilepro if my comment offends you because people feel the need to use a levelling system, even though the wall is level and flat, then something is seriously wrong with the ability and skill level.

      @@sicdoctor No, some people like leveling systems. They’re fun and make the job more concise, precise, and professional. Why is every two-bit handyman a critic?
