Probably the best inflatable spray booth available on Amazon is from Gorillaspro, the bright white one ( way better lighting and clear windows like a semi-down draft , 3 motors and 2 exhaust motors with exhaust trunks , pulls air like a freight train . Keep up the great videos Kandy Man , you rock brotha 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I have the blow up large booth, i have exaust fan pulling out , it really helps clearing out , i have it outside in driveway. I just do a few vehicles a year. Thanks for videos I buff mine , customer want that.
Kandyman for President!! You really do rock, no joke. Your work ethic is outstanding. You're right i don't think anyone out there would be buffing that thing out. I highly doubt the delivery guy that drives it gives a hoot if there's a spec or nib of dirt on it. Hats off to you.
😊😊 reminds me when I used to spray fire trucks and airport crash tenders just by the sheer size of what you've just done all with ICI 2k direct gloss memories bro 😉😉😉😉😉
I’m painting out of a blowup. I ended up taking one of those Costco temporary garage frames and put lights all around. It also will save the paint job if a breaker pops. I’d love to have a nice booth, it is a lot less work for sure! Thanks for doing the video!
Excellent work as always! We live in the area, happened to drive past your shop earlier and noticed a bunch of these Amazon vans in the lot by your shop. Will you be repainting more of their fleet? And if so will you be using the same approach you used on this one?
Amazing, In today’s world, we see people that always want to do the minimum work possible, and you always put an extra effort to deliver an outstanding product. Thanks for sharing. 👍
I had this same booth and used it outside with an extraction hood. Setup outdoor you get much better light inside the booth, but it can be a challenge with any wind over 7-8 mph. And I was able to fold the booth up by myself and it fit back into the same bag it came in.....
Lovely job on painting that billboard Kandy Man, it's nice when a certain smell brings back good memories so that was one of the upsides for you. The truck came out looking mint with a very nice finish but I didn't envy you having to flat and buff that thing😅 I did mention in the video when you showed us the truck that there was no way that would fit in your booth so the blow up one worked a treat👌🙏👍John UK
I use a custom Sewinfla airtight waterproof blow up. A bit more expensive 4000-5000 after all accessories. It does not use the blowers to keep it up, once you inflate, it stays up for a long time. Fans are just used for circulating air. I have 2/1100W intake fans and 1/520W exhaust fan. No overspray issues even on clear coating whole cars, provided the filters are kept clean (replace often). They make them in custom sizes. Cons: the custom made ones are shipped from China so you have to wait a long time for delivery. And you have to replace the filters often (but you can buy rolls of the filter material relatively inexpensive). Also if you buy a larger one piece, size, it is mobile but heavy (they do make the two piece ones that are zippered in the middle, and can be used individually as well, but I have never tried those). Customer service has been great so far.
You should get a ladder with wheels. They have a platform at the top and you can go up from both sides. The wheels have springs so they go up when you step on it. It’s what I use if I’m painting the outside of the boats.
I’ve been refining my home garage spray booth I test sprayed some stuff the other day and everything worked perfectly ! I really enjoy your videos keep em coming!
They make a 3hp exhaust blower that helps alot on overspray a must with that big of booth I have the 30ft long both without the little room also have the elephant booth fan on the outside that does great I think I paid 250 for elephant fan and 300 on 3hp exhaust blower try this u would love to airflow very nice video and great job on van super slick also have those led light 100ft roll that you cut to length have blessed day
Welcome to my world, kills the enjoyment of putting on clearcoat in these environments..did you find the solvent basecoat made the clear pinch back alot more than the waterborne..I struggle ,from the gun is lovely, leave it 2 days to cure ..always pinches back..I still love the 2021 clear ..
Big panels like that aren't the easiest to spray. When i started before i learned to get some light on those big panels i would have trouble getting proper coverage with metallics. Tiger striping. Until i got light on those panels, started opening that fan on out for the drop coat.
God Kandy Man that blow up booth was enormous. When you sprayed the sealer and base the overspray looked manageable. Oh my when you sprayed the clear it looked like a Cheech and Chong movie. Lol. The finish came out slick after the wet sand and buff. Nice job!
Another cracking video 📹 kandy man 👨 I had one only small came with one blower but you need 2 blowers and a extractor fan the vent mate on the side there make a thing that velcro on and you can attach a 12 inch extractor fan 😊😊😊
Humidity is more of a factor with water. Not so much temperature. If you're in an area that gets high Humidity in the summer it will slow you down. Other than that it's not bad. Coverage seems good and the metallics blend easier.
Just curious why not use Omni PLUS. Or Shopline PLUS on a full repaint? The coverage is great and the price is half or less. On TH-cam I can’t post pictures but as a part timer I sprayed a trophy winning freightliner in Omni plus. And I feel what you’re saying about buffing a dirty paint job out of a booth. I spent a couple days sanding and buffing an MK1 GTI and taking 1st place trophies along with best paint trophy 😆great job!
That's awesome nice!. By the way is the outcome too orange peely that you need to buff it? It's kinda hard to see on the camera but seriously it looks nice even without buffing.
at least you have 3000, I can remember when 3m came out with a NEW product 1000 grit. Late 70s early 80s, until then all we had was 600. the good old lacquer days. keep up the good work
Hey Maestro, what kind of DA do you use? I don’t need a dust extraction one I always get DA swirls when sanding, how do you avoid them? I always end up wet sanding everything. P.S. what’s the name brand of the spray booth you used for the Rivian truck and also what kind of clear do you use. Thank you and keep the videos coming
what colour is it? looks gray blueish or something... as a diy'er to me the result looks awesome, but i can relate your thoughts to my day to day job as a carpenter, the better tools and environments i have the better result.
Always enjoy your videos young man. Just wondering why you did not choose to spray a single stage , Like PPG DELFLEET seeing how it is a solid color. Cheers , William
I understand how you feel. Arm is just dead after doing a 30’ side. Interiors of the boat is worse because you have to paint shelves, hinges, consoles, door stops, over hangs, bathrooms, seat boxes, hatch lids, and bait stations. List goes on. Going up and down. Ends up being about 2-3 more cups of paint on the inside vs the outside. Sometimes more. Painting the floor at the same time is probably the worst though.
Hey What was wrong with it you had to polish it, I bought the big 20 x 30 inflatable paint booth , I haven’t used it yet, I’m going to paint my 2000 Silverado extended cab , I’m going to paint it House Of Colors Galaxy gray metallic, the inflatable booth I got has one input for it to blow up and two inputs for ventilation, but iim only going to use one for ventilation and put fans on the outside of the filters to help pull the over spray out.
First dude sprayed my Phantom in that booth, came out terrible, second dude spayed it in his garage when you saw it, came out fire! Maybe it wasn’t the booth 😬🤷🏻♂️
Hopefully that’s the only one you do in a longtime because those are a pain to paint but unfortunately I think your body shop will be getting more of those especially if you did a good job
I wouldn't hire you to pour concrete, knowing you you would want to polish the whole driveway to a mirror finish.Just playing bud, dedication is what we strive for.🎉🎉🎉
This was the best video yet. There is no job you wont take on. Nice!!!!
💪💪💪🤣
Love your integrity and work ethics! Top notch brother! It ain't easy being a king! Nice work as always. 100%
Much appreciated
It would be nice if this booth had some kind of filtered draft venting going on. It would make the job much easier.
That was a ton of work !

@@kandyman5315 I appreciate your content, and all the lessons. Thank you.
Thanks Kandyman, I have been saving for one of the inflatable booths to spray my 68 C3 this spring. Beautiful work as always!
An industrial podium step would be perfect for that or smaller vans, trucks.
My friends did a small cut out and used an exhaust fan

No doubt it was bad
Have a great weekend brother
Billboard! Absolutely.
Did i miss why you wanted to buff? Dirt/dust? Dry areas?
Great end product though...
Bud that was a LOT of work. Major respect.
Appreciate it 👊

I spray solvent. Would love to try water based one day.

sorry, I thought you said that you were spraying this one with solvent. Great looking job

Yes, I sprayed my sprinter. Killer on the arm
💪💪👍
Super super work
Thank you very much
Thumbs up for hard work

Impressive work as always, even when painting a billboard.
What chair are you using at the end of the video? Do you like it?
Vyper chair and yes not cheap but awesome

Ahh Color Code EXP012. We work on these Rivians at the shop in Largo Florida
👍👍
👌👌You did it,a perfect job.👊🇳🇱🇳🇱
👊👊
Did you have to buff it because the booth wouldnt allow the fumes to leave the booth or what reason?
That aswell as dirt
Top job
Thank you 👊
Great video, such pride in your work .
Buffing a work truck because your standards are so high 👍
How long after painting it before buffing the side?
Next day

Blue gray
So with these blowup booths they don’t exhaust the overspray, you just have to wait for the overspray to settle?
Yes but very slow
Always enjoy your videos young man. Just wondering why you did not choose to spray a single stage , Like PPG DELFLEET seeing how it is a solid color. Cheers , William
First time in this setup single stage can go real good or real bad, maybe next time
Came out nice, how do you work out how much paint to mix up?
Years of experience
@@kandyman5315 no secret formula then
They make elephant trunks with big evacuation fans to draw all that overspray out. They are about $250

This is the exact same thing I have to do after each paint job 😭 btw what products do you use to buff
3m and rcp America
