The best thing I have ever heard. And I'm a fan of drums. (e.g. also "Safri Duo). But Albannach has become one of my absolute favourites since this song and sound. So cool. Best regards from a 64 year old pensioner from Germany. :)

Did you know 'shaman' is a made-up word? There are words for 'wise men' and 'medicine men/women' but that one doesn't appear until modern westernism.

Of course it rattles and moves so aye Yous could be the English of any time or battle gettin utterly moved by mad war crys and actual truth be they feart genuinely frightened oot numbered 10:1 5:1 etc Scotsmen these dumb bullys. All because these driven tae insanity pushed and backed into a nothing to lose corner mad basturds interpreted freightened as excitement (mental). Scotsmen running and singing and laughing into war pure out numberd those tunes moved our enemy more than anybody, kept us going when pure fuckin dead exhausted "broken bones heal" etc but moved our enemies. Maybe yer not Scottish but love & connect & feel a kinnship to a complicated thousands of years in the making culture ethnicity peoples country nation race aye -the Scottish because yer the enemy?

Mr father's mother was a Mac Williams....from Scotland, not Ireland. She was a fighter ! She taught me father "How to fight" ......fist fight, of course. He learned so well that the school bullies soon left him alone, after he beat hell out of 'em !
