No problem at all and hopefully it helps. Getting it here was super easy. When it came to the DMV that’s where it was a little more difficult. But I got it figured out. I made a video about that. It’s for SC, but other states may be similar. th-cam.com/video/WfaZQoGYsXA/w-d-xo.html
Out of curiosity say for example you live too far away to pick up the vehicle from port, are there any options you've seen to have a truck like this shipped domestically after you've had thr broker sign off on it?
Rock & Roll Transport (the company I paid $75 to pull my truck out of customs) offered to have it delivered from Jax FL to Greenville SC for somewhere under $800. So that is definitely an option. I spent $200 in fuel there and back, and 12 hours driving, but enjoyed the road trip with my dad.
I would rather go to one of the many dealerships tat are here now and buy one for 6 or 7 k in cash, they tune it up, replace all filtters and put new tires on it for that. Still a good deal except I can get it today.
I paid for a Sambar on June 30th. It’s still waiting for a shipping reservation by Autohub. Did Mitsui work with you directly or did they go through Autohub or another forwarding company on the shipping part of the transaction. Was the battery dead when you picked it up?
@@cro-cro Thanks for the info. Mine was purchased also from Mitsui but after two weeks it was picked up by a car exporting service (Autohub) from them and my car shipping info is on Autohub’s website and shows “carried” status awaiting ship reservation. This may be a new process with Mitsui???
@@eltanguero60 that’s interesting. About two or three weeks after I bought mine it got scheduled to put out on Hoegh’s St Petersburg, Mitsui asked if I was going to import it or a broker, and then two days later it shipped. Maybe email Mitsui and ask if they have a contact for you at autohub for you to ask questions to?
Yes it is interesting. So far no email response from either company -- apparently they are closed for the Obon holidays. Great info on your channel on the importing/registration process!@@cro-cro
Absolutely! Just like cutting your own grass or paying someone else to cut yours for you. Some people enjoy doing things their self and others would rather pay someone else. I made this video to share what steps I went through to get my truck, so that others can weigh the pros and cons and make the decision their self. If you want something special like an automatic, AC w/locking diff, supercharged, or a jumbo cab, sellers here put a premium price on top.
awesome to see some transparency, whenever you look up any info there's always this weird obsession people have with hiding information.
Thanks! That’s part of the reason I did it. I understand each person will have a different outcome, but I’ve got no problem sharing mine.
This is great. I appreciate you showing how it went using the broker.

Thank you, very informative.
It's a great looking truck and nice video. I'm working in Japan now and I export a lot of these.
Good breakdown!
Just ordered a 95😅

We had 4 shipped for $350.00 ea
Nice video but make a video while driving this truck
Sounds like a good idea. Right now I’m working on getting it legal to drive on the road.
Hey man does c&f mean shipping is included in the price and stuff?
How much did it cost you to register the mini truck?

Where is that?
Well where would that be in the US?

I bought it from Mitsui, and the battery was alive and still working now

@@brianshylo6270 yeah it looks like they have a nation wide holiday from 8/12 - 8/21 or something like that
Is it street legal?
In most states yes, some states are being weird about it, so check your local laws.
Sounds easier to simply find a used import car dealer and buy one off their lot that they already imported over.

@@cro-cro the dealer markup is what I'm worried about.
Okay guys the ship my truck was on just sunk. What do I do
If you had insurance, contact the shipper? I’ve got no idea otherwise.
