i really like this series. nearly all of the introductions videos to Existentialism focus on the thoughts of specific thinkers, but this one brings in the broader aspect. if only it could reach the broader audience... it was just by pure chance that i found this channel

Excellent! Captures your attention from start to finish. Eric Dobson? Gotta add him to my list of the most engaging lecturers/thinkers on the TH-cam. Glad I ran into him. And he's doing it from an armchair!

Do any of your talks include de Beauviour? I can't find any and she should be somewhere if not in this video.

Can Jesus be considered protoexistentialist? Or at least some of his opinions can be called that way?
I have one quote in mind "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it" Matthew 16:25

How strong is the urge in humans to be understood? Does it have to do with social acceptance? And last question... Can a human feel part to be part of tribe despite of lot of contradicting views to the tribe he belongs to?

This is very helpful. Now consider, if you please, that there is something to be learned about existentialism by observing that we still cannot discuss it openly in polite society. Why is this so? I submit that there is a perpetual war on knowing. Knowing that your knowing has the potential to set you "free" invites all animus of any particular epoch upon you. To use your most powerful faculty is always a sin.

As usual, A capital video... To presume to suggest one other antecedent figure to existentialism, I might add William Shakespeare...

Antinatalism, the future of Existentialism. I'm already there.
