My effective singing range goes from F3, the lowest note in my range that projects well to G5, the highest note in my range that doesn’t have that squeak I get when I try to sing soprano pitches. As a child, you could have given me any tenor, alto, or soprano part and I would be able to sing it at pitch and well. But my tenor range got immediately cut off when I went through puberty and my soprano range slowly but surely shrunk and got all squeaky.
This is so much harder to sing than it seems. Easy in a sense, but insanely hard to do well.
