@tims9723 If it was a mechanical or design flop, I could pass on saying something for sure. But how the hell does this sort of writing come out of an AAA studio. Much less BIOWARE? That's the most terrible thing in my mind.
@ mechanically it’s actually fine. Design, for BioWare, much less a DragonAge title is actually, in the words of TJ Miller to Deadpool, pretty hard to look at. Cartoonish in comparison. The writing and even the acting is even worse which is a surprise. While I was being facetious in my comment, I appreciate the discussion.
@@tims9723 All good! I try to take the time to have discussions with those who comment because that's what I enjoy doing! Yeah. I have no qualms with the series changing art styles (As they have in every game) but the first time I saw "Darkspawn" in Veilguard, I had to pause the game and laugh for a few minutes. They looked just as you said, cartoonish. It took a lot from me over the course of the game to keep believing that this was a "threat" people should be "worried" about.
Andromeda had a rocky launch, but I still had fun with it, but there was no tension in the games story, the companions weren't really interesting. Solid game but not really interesting as mass effect main games. But veilguard is so bad that i muted the game so i didn't have to hear the characters, the side quests were....let's say non existent. I can deal with most characters but taash is annoyingly written, a walking hypocrite, and for the hundredth time I don't wanna hear their identity crisis, if I had an irl friend i would help them, but i am not playing a fantasy game to hear about modern terms like "non-binary", tbh they could have made it feel authentic by giving it a in game term, like it's a religious, or creed they follow to reach enlightenment or something, which won't ruin the immersion. I couldn't finish the game myself it was a snoozefest for me. The r rating for this game is a waste, even Hogwarts legacy gave players more freedom than this game.
@demonwolf5553 I played Andromeda on launch without a ton of issues, making me a rare case. But as I replayed it after playing the OG trilogy for the first time this year, I essentially thought: The story was worse, and the companions were worse but still tolerable as a crew. Gameplay I could give or take, I don't care unless the mechanics are so bad it's intolerable. By comparing Veilguard to Andromeda? It's not even a competition. Andromeda wins. The writing is better. The companions are better. It makes up for the meh-ness of other things. Veilguard just doesn't have the redeeming factors anywhere. I appreciated it being a very polished release, but beyond that, there was just nothing to care about. I romanced Neve and it barely felt like a romance opposed to very cringy, flirting written by someone who hasn't ever had a relationship in their life. It was so tongue in cheek that it just didn't pass as genuine.
Video title reaction: No. No we don’t need to talk about it.
