- A narrative documentary overview of one of the United State's oldest system, followed by a compilation of clips of the system for an hour!
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (abbreviated MBTA and known colloquially as "the T")is the public agency responsible for operating most public transportation services in Greater Boston, Massachusetts. The MBTA transit network includes the MBTA subway with three metro lines (the Blue, Orange, and Red lines), two light rail lines (the Green and Ashmont-Mattapan lines), and a five-line bus rapid transit system (the Silver Line); MBTA bus local and express service; the twelve-line MBTA Commuter Rail system, and several ferry routes. In 2023, the system had a ridership of 239,981,700, or about 755,500 per weekday as of the fourth quarter of 2023, of which the rapid transit lines averaged 267,100 and the light rail lines 80,300, making it the fourth-busiest rapid transit system and the third-busiest light rail system in the United States. As of the fourth quarter of 2023, average weekday ridership of the commuter rail system was 97,100, making it the fifth-busiest commuter rail system in the U.S. ~Wikipedia

Great city. Great analysis of this system . A great narrative voice, which makes a huge difference in watching many of these TH-cam videos.
Fascinating review of the MBTA. Boston has the oldest subway which now hosts the Green Line light rail vehicles. The Blue line uses third rail and overhead wire for power.
Thanks Tim💚👌👍
So sad that the trolleybuses are gone!
Yeah😢
I love trains! Make more pls😊
The Jenga building being in the background of the first shot :)
Awesome
Boston's Great Transportation👍👍👍👍
Did you know there’s also a ferry line on the mbta❓
Documentation? I’m guessing you meant documentary…
The Green and Red lines are light rail operations that can travel above and belong ground. I am not sure why Americans get confused with the difference between light rail and street cars - they are the same.
The Red Line is a heavy-rail subway. The Mattapan Ashmont High-speed Line is a light rail line.
Yes, the red line doesn’t resemble light in any way. How can this be confused?
@@jonathanblair5255 - It is a light rail system. There is difference between a light rail and heavy rail systems.
@@chrismckellar9350I was actually agreeing with you, I didn’t make that clear
