I love this kind of joke, where a character is saying one thing and their thought changes before the entire statement has finished leaving their mouth. XD
It certainly is a Hudson Hornet, one slight inaccuracy, which may seem silly, since this is family animated film, the shot at 0:07 where you can the engine is a V8. but all Hudson Hornets manufactured from 1951-1954 had an Inline 6 engine, not a V8, I know that might seem a bit silly for saying this, but that's the curse of being a car expert.😊
I don't get why people get worked up over someone saying that. I mean, that's like the most sanitized version of a reaction I think most people would have in that situation

I just discovered another reason to love this scene besides it being funny. When he first appears, Mansley is presented as strong, to-the-point, and confident. Just what you'd expect from a standard 1950's movie protagonist. Then this scene rolls in, all that macho pretense is washed away, and what's left is this goofy, arrogant, bumbling officer of what amounts to a vanity agency of the government which, if not for the Giant, would've had no relevance in national security. It's the perfect character establishing moment for a truly pathetic villain.
I'm gonna be honest, the only reason Mansley looks so villainous in this movie, is because of all of the other characters having unshakeable willpower and humanity. Mansley is as confident a character can be given the incredible circumstances presented to him. To him, that robot is gonna kill everyone. It's his job to protect, and when he realizes in this scene that he's completely out of his element, he understandably becomes paranoid. What does he do about it? Does he run away, no, he presses forward. He sees a threat that has to be dealt with. Yeah later, he does in fact run, but really it's the only gripe I have with my favorite animated movie. I think it really cheapens his character, even though I realize why they did it. I would have rather seen him realize the error of his ways, and parallel the situation with when Hogarth saves the giant. It would have been cool to see Mansley accept his fate, only to then be saved by the giant. Maybe even throw a salute with the General to see the giant off. It's still my favorite animated movie since I saw it when it first came out though.
He's not even a villain. Mansleep was just a chicken running out without his head, causing chaos. He's just a scared paranoid guy, which is pretty much the same saying even about today's world, just gotta love fifties It's even more pathetic that people think back then other people had it all when it's actually the same f****** s*** this that we have today, except worse all the more reason I f****** hate the fifties.

That was pretty much how I reacted when I saw Carlos turn into a chick/bunny monster towards the end of the movie _Hop_.
