China treated Indian students badly during Covid pandemic and ruined their academic years. During Covid pandemic in China way back in 2019, most of the students flew to India. Once the Covid became lean, China didn't allow them to go to China for 2 to 3 years despite pressure from Indian government and hence those students lost 2 to 3 years of their academic life. Meanwhile, Galvan also happened. So, PM Modi took countermeasures by cancelling the direct flights to China. Since then, he's maintaining the same status quo.

The China very much wants to enter India in many sectors with their investments but India blocked them sturdily. Dr. Cheema, that is true that businessmen do suffer due to no direct flights between India and China. But this is secondary issue. In fact, after COVID, Chinese Airlines is suffering from heavy financial losses. On the other hand, Airlines business in India is growing very fast. After COVID, more than 6 trillion USD has been withdrawn from Chinese stock exchange and China is bleeding badly right now.
