Most of these look like the people receiving the dogs were wanting one for a while. Very heartwarming. But often gifted animals end up in shelters, or abandoned. Make very very sure the recipient wants and can care for a new critter. Ideally, provide a 'starter kit' of bed, food and a toy or two.
Too true. And, to help the animals already in the shelter, adopt them instead of shopping.
While it cuts the surprise aspect, the best way to do this is to have the recipient go to a shelter and select his or her own pet. Or, make the "surprise" a trip to the shelter. They'll be saving someone's life.
This was a really heartwarming video but you make a good points. I do love the son that bought his mum the pup and all the other gifts they gave her were things for the puppy!
It is very heart warming. I know how it feels to loose some one you love. I lost my mom in 2022 about two months lost our chici and it put more in to missing them both more. I can afford to one to much money and he was a little Chihuahua but I know he any my are together. Keep your good work up keep smiles coming especially here at Christmas.

Very sorry for your loss. I've never had children but the loss of a pet is heartbreaking, too. People don't mean to be cruel (or maybe they're just ignorant) but I've been told that losing a pet isn't the same. When that pet is your child, it most definitely is the same.

I got a puppy forChristmas when I was 10 or 11 years old. I’d never asked for a dog and wasn’t really delighted to have one. The problem was that I was expected to assume all the work including training, which I had no idea how to do. I got resentful when I repeatedly got into trouble when the puppy had mistakes. It was textbook on how NOT to gift a puppy.
The second guy going “my baby boy has come back to me” was absolutely heartwarming

When we were kids(5 of us), my uncle asked mom,unknown to us if he could buy a dog for us. When he arrived,he had a box over his head. My sister guessed first..."It's a dog!" A little daschund we named Shotsie. My sister has had 3 over the years. Shotsie has been gone for 50 years but still treasure him & the memories

I wish I had a dog too I'm a teen and I have been wanting a dog since long I never got any😢😢😢😢😢😢 and all my cousins have many dogs and they never felt sad for me or never helped to ever convince my mom to give me a dog. They already had dogs so they cared for themselves. It just broke my heart everytime i used to see them play with their dogs. So since i cant have a dog I've got this great idea to feed and give some love and play with the poor stray dogs outside❤
And one day when i grow up i will adopt dogs but i will never stop feeding stray dogs

A love dogs, but for the life of me I can't imagine getting a puppy that weights 10 lbs. I point out that a dog that still is a puppy is not growing up.
My last dog weighted 60 lbs. She was under fed. Under my care, she gained 4 lbs within a week. She was a female, white German Shepherd. She was so happy as me being her owner. She became very protective of me.

I enjoy seeing the tears and huge smiles on those people's faces, however, when the pup is picked up, and the tail is wagging so fast, that you can barely see it, tells me that the pup is as happy as the new owners.

I don't agree with gifting a pet to someone who's not ready, willing, and able to care for them. But these are darn heartwarming. A furry companion is so special and these folks reactions are so wholesome.
Especially if they're not ready for all the expenses like Vet bills, etc. and the fact that the average life expectancy for most of the breeds shown is ten to twelve years..... When our Goldens passed it was devastating..... Couldn't go through the heartache again.

Now remember a box is not just for Christmas it has lots of uses.
i also want to receive one, but i want a cobra and put it in a box for a surprise.
Just be patient and keep trying…all dogs and cats have feelings and if they are placed in a shelter they are scared and lonely and just want someone to need them and love them. All breeds need love just like we do! You can get help with the fees or do some small jobs for friends/family and they will help you with your costs. But only if you can afford to give them food shelter and veterinary care for their lifetime! Some breeds live 15+ years! Don’t adopt purely on emotion…or it can backfire and the animal goes back to being in a shelter and the whole lonely cycle starts again…Thank you for commenting and just be patient and kind to all animals and people…that’s all God expects of us!

Just a quick comment. We work with a rescue fostering dogs, this is going to sound harsh, but, puppies being given to elderly people is very heart warming, however, plan for the future, it sounds cold, but there is a good chance the dog will outlive the new owner, sadly we see it to many times. On that subject, even if you are not elderly, plan for the unknown, make sure someone is in place to take care of your animals if the unthinkable happens.
They gave 70 year old people PUPPIES? Puppies that live 15 years? HOW WOULD THEY TAKE CARE OF THEM!?

Honestly giving dogs to elderly who probably need the support more then a five year old is so precious. You never know the situation maybe they lost a significant other or maybe they get really lonely or maybe they have long standing health issues

Was thinking this myself, a person has to be able to care for a puppy, such as walks and feeding, and at an elderly age they struggle to look after them, the dog has to come first in consideration.
