One of the main focus for 3.17 is buffing self cast spells while nerfing non self cast mechanics, such as cast on crit, sell totems, trap support etc. So this video is a build idea that can possibly become very good, maybe even better than the totem version in the past.
I made a pob (took like 8h) which got around 4 million dps (without EO cuz it sucks triggering that on flameblast). And it's pretty tanky. Gonna start with it cuz I don't like going with meta builds
If you put 10 stack of flameblast and look at the FULL DPS, the damage is inflated 10 times, because pob will take the damage of the full stack hit, and times it by your cast speed. So using the average hit number on 10 stacks would be more accurate. I say this because 4m DPS seems a bit high if you don't use crazy gear. (10EX budget) I made this mistake the first time I made the build, so just a heads up here.
So I def tried this and am stuck doing legit 0dps to bosses. Its actually decent for clearing, but without many damage nodes and with my low gear at least (also 5L) it definitely doesnt start out too well. Maybe it can be like ice crash 1 shot damage if you get some good items and crit multi.
I think since they didn't make any mechanical changes to flameblast other than buffing the damage, or at least I'm not aware of, it's still not good enough to out perform most of the more popular skills, especially when it comes to doing elders/ shapers and big bosses like that, because it's harder to dodge things with this build. But I've tried the character on T16 maps, and the damage on the boss seems decent, at least a LOT better than before. I'm killing the boss in a similar time as my other similar geared characters.
@@meteormemori yee I think it just takes a few damage items and such. It just took me like 10 minutes to kill eater of worlds or w/e his name is haha. But my gear was legit like 2 ex budget, no damage buffs, so maybe it can actually scale really well even. Either way refreshing to see some new ideas on poe and flameblast is still satisfying.
If you are talking about my machinegun turret build, I wouldn't recommend it anymore, because you can no longer easily hit things from a distance. But if you still want to try it out, just switch the helmet gems around into Mark on hit, sniper's mark, hydrosphere, tornado, and it should still work at 70% of it's power before the hydro nerf
The spell is wrong since the beginning, it should instantly, without any expanding, have a decent damage already. Otherwise, illogical, many spells just beat it like shit, they have everything Flameblast does at a close extent, but they instant, which is humongous value. I mean, I still have used a tiny ass lil flameblast tap machineguns for fun, or to finish off leftovers, and they do deal the dam, but ye, near other spells, they don't, need to go through all the damn stages to kill a fly sometimes.
I typically don’t have an issue reaching endgame so I might just say F it and league start it. Do you get much damage from hot swap to the new 3x damage staff? Strong considering running a off meta self cast build or just starting with poison conc. Issue with that is I feel this scales better end game
My rough calculation tells me that you'll need to find a way to get around 150 flat fire damage on top of this current build, for the new staff to deal 1.5x more damage than this current version, so with the reduced elemental resistance down side, I don't think it's worth. As for the scaling, it really all depends on how they're going to change flameblast for single target. In the live stream video, they've show cased the lightning tendril change, which looks like a huge improvement on single target. If Flameblast does get something similar, than I think it will be better than poisonous concoction.
I can't recommend this build as a league starter. I'd say it's too expensive to start in the beginning. A lot of stuff will be very expensive on league start as well. Maybe it would be fun to try as a second build. But for the sake of a safe league start no.

I did use a pizza sticks build tho, totems are insta already, and they just keep stacking the stages while u run around ;D

flameblast works best in a totem setup, has faster casting and doesn't need to channel as long.

Flablast bot more than 50% buff, it is close to 80%

Prob just need to add something like, dealing fire damage over time within the ring while channeling, and everyone will be all over it lol

@@meteormemori that’s what I’m hoping too. I like stronger 1 hit skills even if they are a tad slower. Seems good for the league mechanic as well
