    Living in Michigan, I pay extra attention to Canadian survivalist advice. If you guys can survive brutal winters with specific moves and tools, I'm all ears.

    Love the duct tape on the matches; it has many uses including first aid if needed. And, although you're supposed to stay put if you're lost, perhaps add a cheap dollar-store compass.

      i recommend over a smooth container so air doesnt dry out..plus use gorilla tape...makes duct tape obsolete!

    If the batteries in the light die, you can use the fire stick to flash signal.
    It's likely brighter then most microlights even if it's a bit less consistent.

    Your tea bags are not just a moral booster, they have some medicinal benefits to them. It lower blood pressure (which will help when your on the verge of panicking) and increases mental awareness and focus (also a big benefit when you're stranded in the wilderness). Black tea is also a coagulant, so if you cut yourself you can use a dry tea bag on the wound to help clot the blood. They are also anti-inflammatory. A moist, warm tea bag put over an eye after a minor injury will help to reduce swelling and speed up recovery (a huge help when in a survival situation if you injure one or both eyes)., and will help with stings and bug bites as well. it can be a good fire starter as well. There's so much more to a tea bag than a warm drink my friend.
    I might just go make a video about this very topic for my own channel. Stay safe bud.

      Therefore a Moral Booster PLUS Black teas many benefits. It's basic abilities I normally place in the “sit down and have a brew” area of the Physiology of Survival to help reduce panic but additional knowledge of herbal medicine is always an interesting topic and I look forward to watching your video, cheers

      Amen to that. I was on a long-range patrol (I won't say where) when I got a bit "mis-oriented" and missed a way point. Instead of getting all panicky, I sat down and (dug a hole for a small fire) made a brew Earl Grey, of course), and ate a HOOAH bar. My blood pressure lowered, I felt much less anxious, I corrected myself and continued the mission.

    • @BruceZawalsky

      I wrap it once with thin wire, then put on the rings and wrap three or four more times, finally I use small pliers to wrap or tie the two ends together

    Great idea. I have done the same thing, UNTIL, I realized the most important and most often used part of this kit in the field, is the water its self! OK, are you going to carry all the items in the bottle and then fill it with water? Once you empty it so you can put water in it, where do you put the items in it?

    • @BruceZawalsky
      @BruceZawalsky  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a plastic bag inside, but the idea is to have the items and use them in an area like most of Canada where water is present and you need to boil it to purify it, you have pockets and maybe a pack, it would be odd if we wondered around naked carrying a single metal container as well I normally mount it an ATV or throw it into a pack, if you need water for the day, it would be extra and could be carried in a plastic container or a hydration system

    • @BruceZawalsky

      The Metal Water Bottle allows you to boil water or melt snow dozens of times, 1L of water will last you a few hours, when stranded (hence the survival kit) with the means to light fire and a metal water bottle. This is a purpose built survival kit, I am not saying not to carry water, but you cannot carry enough water for more than a day

    • @elund408
      @elund408 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@laremyzaring8568 you would put some in your pockets, but others you want to keep in one place. the knife would go on the belt. the lighter in the pocket but the matches and ferro rod would be kept in the bag so not misplaced. there are no hard fast rules. you might take everything out of the bag and use it for water carry if needed. A survival kit is only as good as the knowledge of the person using it. Perhaps the person is in cycling shorts and a hoodie. no good pockets. Semper gumby.
