I completely agree with what you say, I mean you can change or implement zombie-ish aspects wether it be map style or literally references in multiplayer maps and war zone areas without ruining the core game idea for multiplayer and war zone which actually makes zombie players wanna play multiplayer and war zone to play those maps and makes war zone and multiplayer players more enticed to play zombies, whereas when you do the opposite and make zombies more like multiplayer and war zone not only are you actually disrupting/changing the core feel and gameplay of the mode but on top of that you’re pushing out you’re zombies community and pushing in that multiplayer and war zone players to start playing zombies, the difference is the first idea allows both communities to have fun within each others modes the other only benefits one community within your own game, and I also quickly wanna say that I think the people who blame kevin for the downfall of zombies should really reconsider on that thoughts because I don’t think there is a singular person to blame for where we are right now, and if there was it’s definitely higher up than kevin, I mean he’s only the assistant creative director I believe, and obviously we can theorize that the birth of war zone had major influence, even though blackout is definitely for me funner, despite the cons popping up for bo6, the full game is yet to release, I’m still excited to see how terminus is gonna feel and hopefully liberty falls being an even better map than our minds and eyes are telling us 😂, only time will tell.
YES! You put it very well. With all the changes they have made to zombies it seems like they are pushing out the TRUE zombies fans and splitting up the communities more. Personally, I still enjoyed Cold War and I know I am going to enjoy BO6 since I know what to expect. It's still a fun mode it just is so different to how it used to be and I hope in the future they can make adjustments to bring back that classic zombies even if it is just a side mode (like that has been rumored). Yeah, I also liked Blackout WAYYY more and wish they add some actually cool and unique locations to Warzone in the future. I will say the release of the Area 99 map is definitely going in the right direction and gets me genuinely excited to try it out. I agree, people blame Kevin for everything but it is just Activision as a whole who I believe are behind things changing so much for zombies. I also am really pumped for Terminus and even Liberty Falls. I think both are still going to be a ton of fun, just a different experience compared to the old zombies. The entire map philosophy makes this entire game look easy. U can just run around everywhere with no worry about "oh maybe i shouldn't go through this tight spot on the map.. cause i might die" ... u can just go turn ur brain off and not worry about that at all with how open these maps are.
Die machine was the same way They are trying to please casuals with this map and hardcore EE hunters with the other. Let's just play the one we like and be glad they made one for us (or at least hope it's like we want, a challenge)

I think the issue is there is nothing inherently spectacular about that, something that has been seen and done too many times. As a second map to terminus I generally can accept that especially if the story telling is good in liberty falls. But if this is what we continue to see as more maps thats where I believe the issue will be. We’ve definitely had worse in recent on launch releases so I feel like this is a step in the right direction.
Yeah I agree that this is a big improvement from some recent titles and I'm still excited for it! I, and a lot of others, seem to feel like they're could've been more with it, especially since Terminus looks so good. I still think there could be a bit more to the map that we have yet to see and I have faith that Liberty Falls with turn out to be pretty good overall!
I don't understand Treyarch/Activision's lack of transparency and lack of talking to the community. If liberty balls is bigger than what we saw they should just say so, but no, let the community rip itself apart and for what... publicity?! I really dont understand it.
For those that didn’t play Cold War, there was a multiplayer map it was Miami. It was a dark night time map, and was huge. The community complained and they re did the map moved buildings and made the map during the day, added new details and made it smaller. So they have changed things in the past, they chould always do it with zombies.
As an OG more classic style player, I’m extremely worried about the game. I’m still holding on to a full review really until the end of the game’s cycle as anything can happen but from what we’ve seen I’m quite disappointed. I would be heavily surprised if on launch we suddenly had a ton more areas of liberty falls that are incredible but let’s face it, the chances of that are super low. Imo with how fractured the community is, the only way through is to cater to everyone. Making warzone style maps AND classic zombies maps AND open world maps, along with several modes: an easy mode (sounds like they’re already doing this with story mode,) and a multiplayer/warzone mode (basically the “main” mode as it is now,) and a very well built classic mode which ideally would be the MAIN mode. Without doing that I feel they will continue to alienate the zombies community as they are literally catering the most to non-zombies fans right now, in a zombies game…..makes no sense until you realize Activision is only in this for profit.

Bring back a 2 hit none jug and 3 hit with jug down system. take us back to the BO3 point system. And give us goddamn starting pistols!!!! Make zombies something to be proud of when you hit high rounds or complete easter eggs knowing you red screened 100 times in the game. it gives that rewarding feel compared to how it has been the last couple of years. The maps themselves. Since BO4.. i may even say BO3 post revelations. Nothing has stood out to me... just my thoughts. good video tho bro keep it up :)
You bring up some great points! Older zombies where you really had to pay attention to your surroundings was great, knowing that in just a few hits you would die. Yeah, Cold War's story was alright but not having a crew really hindered it I'd say. I disagree a little bit with what you are saying. I think Black Ops 3's health system was a perfect balance between stupidly hard and not stupidly easy and I think that would be better than BO2 and before health system. But the accomplishment back then of beating an EE or getting to a high round really was amazing! The starting pistol also is just soooo good and they NEED that back! Personally, I think revelations and honestly all of BO4's maps stood out to me and were really cool! The concepts were sick but the execution was iffy for some of them. I will admit that Der Schatten looks amazing as both a zombies and MP map. If there were a way to convert maps to zombies, Der Schatten would be on the top of my list. That being said, I think Liberty Falls looks like a fun, turn the brain off kind of map. I don't really care it doesn't have the "traditional zombies aesthetic." It's a town in the 90s that's going through an outbreak? It's not cod zombies, but how much more "traditional zombies" can you get? Like Dawn of the Dead, Dead Rising, 75% of the George Romero zombie movies??

I actually don't think the location is an issue at all, in fact I think it looks pretty cool honestly! I think the biggest issue is it seems like they kind of ruined the atmosphere that the map should have, or aura as everyone has been saying. I think people would like the map WAYYY more with a change as small as just starting in the bowling alley and having that set the tone for the map that way. Instead of starting on top of a roof where you see the whole map and it doesn't feel as much like you are exploring and opening up the map as much.

That portal was just part of the map "key" it wasn't on the map itself... Just on the key... I would not hype yourself up for a portal to somewhere else... I feel people are gonna be so disappointed if there isn't one there :/
The zombies community is split between BO3 fans that want a challenge and casual players (both new and old) that just want to shoot zombies without needing a TH-cam guide just to turn on power or get Pack a Punch, and a bonus for them if they can do Easter eggs (like die machine) Liberty falls is part of the story and made for the casual players and Terminus is made for the BO3 loving community. Remember, Black Ops 3 had the Giant for casuals and Shadows of Evil that created this more hardcore community in the first place (even Black Ops 1 had easy Kino and hard for Five) I think they did everything right, except make the HUD basic rather than futuristic or horror themed like before, but I can look past that disappointment.
As an OG zombie player, I want more than just the map playing well. For me, the game won’t reach its full potential until we get a classic mode back. If activision was truly trying to appease everyone, they would make a modern mode and a classic mode for each map. I want to enjoy the game too, but I can’t until they implement these changes
@@ProphetOfDoubt all I can say is I feel similar and the saving grace is if they give it mod support. Got to play with friends that can't stay alive even in Cold war, so yeah them making the game easier made it more accessible, but like Dead Space 3, it's not the same.

I just Realized The Black Ops 6 HUD and The Black Ops 4 HUD look almost identical at least for zombies.
It looks like they share some similarities but I feel like they still look a bit different

Best example of this is the MW3 maps that they've done variants for. Those maps would be so good as survival maps

3:30 it kind of does, just looks more like WW2 zombies than anything because it was literally in a town like that during snowy weather and everything.
I actually really liked this video. I had no clue bo4 had these maps in multiplayer.
They took out the horror aspect to replace it with realism , but horror is what made zombies , the scary factor
