After living in New Braunfels 5 years now, I'm breaking down my honest thoughts through some pros & cons.
We've done pros and cons videos before, BUT today's hits deeper because of all the eye-opening changes since last year. If you're considering calling New Braunfels home, here's the TRUTH about living here, the pros and cons.

One of the biggest pros for me would be all the upcoming development projects and parks you mentioned. It’s one of the more exciting aspects of about living here getting to see new projects take shape and hearing about what’s on the horizon. There are growing pains that come with the growth and development but I prefer being somewhere that people want to move to and where investments are being made.

We've been here a year and love every bit of it. But, my main con is that we need more natural area parks like Purgatory Creek and Spring Lake in San Marcos. I find myself driving up to San Marcos far too often.

Yes And I believe you said they'd be open to the public. That would be great. A friend is repurposing the old NBU warehouse facility to native plants and eventually New Braunfels very own nature center. If you do a special on NB parks, it would be nice to include his work. He sure could use volunteers and/or donations.@@raadalawanrealtor

I lived there for 7 years, I hated the traffic around 46 and also Walnut, hated the summer with all the people in certain areas, but I did love waking up to deer in my yard and being close to Lands park, I think the pros outweigh the cons, but I fear it's growing too fast. I hope they get the roads fixed soon

Thanks. Roads and infrastructure are going to lag behind in any city. Cities react to growth. This case was a global pandemic which stirred the pot and created an avalanche of growth. People want to be here. And it’s a tourist town with the water so really no way out of running into people. Where did you move to?

@@raadalawanrealtor we moved to San Antonio for personal reasons, but I have family in New Braunfels and go often, also family in Schertz, seems like between San Marcos,New Braunfels and Schertz/Cibolo is gonna be a big megaplex of a city all together they are all growing.

The best alternative for a city to handle traffic is to offer alternativr meanse of transit. Buses or trains would greatly help ofset traffic.

@@raadalawanrealtor in an ideal world most people would live within walking or biking distance to where they run errands or work, and if they dont transit would be available and cars would only be used when necassary, but thats a pipe dream in the united states, especially texas.

@@thisisnotokiedokie5246 ideal world? you're looking for somewhere ic am from, tightly packed homes but walkable to stores and parks. And long snowy and cold winters. most people here ,by 2035, between Austin and San Antonio, will live within 5 miles of I35. With the exception of downtown and Gruene, you're right, NB is not walkable. Austin may be more your jam. I'd imagine the closer you are to walking to shopping and work, the ore expensive it is. You're going to pay a premium for proximity

@@raadalawanrealtor Generally it is true that you do pay pemium for proximity because of the high demand, but thats where the problem is people want to live in places where you can live comfortably, and not in isolated spread out single family homes that dont give you acess to anything unless you have a car. BTW where are you from?
