Danny! Your music is so beautiful and heart felt. When my sister Judy died on July 20th of 2015, but on the same day my Dad died yet 26 years earlier, I felt broken just like you. I got online looking for my song for her. I searched everywhere, then your song came up...I will not say Goodbye! Omg! when I listened to it...it was how I felt, what I thought! Bless you Danny, bless your heart for the truth and feelings it has. It is rare no a day to find truth within!
Saw Danny sing last night in florida, all I can say is wow it's like he's a gift from God that voice is so strong yet effortless it's amazing the talent that he's born with. God bless you and your life with your wife and your beautiful children keep doing what you're doing God knows what he's doing with you and we appreciate it! Love love you!

Love the story about how you met your wife shes a lucky lady
Saw (heard him) in concert on 12-10-2015 at the Rosemont Theater near Chicago, IL. I would have loved it if he would have sung more songs. It was a mish-mash of different performers/musicians. I don't even remember the "other" people who performed. Don't know their names. Don't really care either. However, we went to this concert to hear/see/listen to Danny Gokey sing. Too bad he did not sing more songs. It was fantastic to hear him, so this was a blessing! His voice is like mantequilla caliente con pan Cubano. Muy rico!
I recently discovered Danny on a Christian music radio station. Wish I would have been on board a long time ago. Your story is inspiring with a message of great hope. An awesome voice intertwined with good old fashion Christian values, testimony and centered on Christs Love. A message that more people should listen to and accept.

He is there every year (and recently) for KLove Fan Awards (radio station). We got to see him all throughout the weekend. The fans love him :-)
I still don't understand how people just basically ditch the idea of their deceased spouse that they loved so much then just re-marry somebody. It's sad to me.

So you would want a young widow (er in this case) to be alone and mourning for the rest of their lives ? Wouldn’t their loved ones want them to be happy ? He went through a lot of pain, if you look into hist first 2 albums and his story on American idol. his mourning was not easy.
Honestly, he still honors her memory. He came to my church recently and said that he felt God tell him to name their 4th kid Emmanuel. So Emmanuel was born on his former wife's birthday! and he felt it was a sign that God was with him during his grieving process. So sweet

I lost my mother from this earth 20 years ago today. If you've ever heard the song Danny Gokey sings called "Tell your heart to beat again", the beginning lyrics is exactly how I felt that first day. I have 3 sons who were all preteens when it happened, so I knew I had to be there for them, my dad, my siblings and others. It was very difficult getting through each day without her there, but I just kept relying on God. After losing both of my parents, and 4 siblings from this earth, and a special brother in law, I've found you never get over it, but with God's help, you will get through it. Try listening to that song, I'm sure it will minister to your heart.
