I loved this discussion, especially Bradley Whitford's political commentary on how HMT relates to current issues. As a v*ctim of childbirth as*ault, having fought for years to be heard by our judicial system (that "no" means "no" in the delivery room, not just the bedroom) this show has been a haunting and powerful representation of just how bad it can get, and how hard we must fight to not forget where we have been, where we ACTUALLY are now, and what we truly want for the future inheritors of the earth: our children.
Agreed. I love what Bradley says also. Gosh he is spot on. Even more so now with what we are seeing unfold in the US. I began watching THT last year- (in the thick of covid, the rioting , the division of political parties, things I had never witnessed before nor thought I would witness in my lifetime). This is a must see show, especially poignant right now. People need to see what can happen if our democracies are not protected. It can happen. Americans need to see this series and get their act together. Bradley also goes a step deeper in saying that there is some sort of joy/euphoria being derived from the evil practices in THT. Or a belief that there is. That’s just pure evil. No decent, sane normal human would ever find joy in those acts.
How come nobody is talking about Rose’s baby possibly not being Nick’s? Remember at the engagement party for Commander Lawrence and the widow of Commander Warren, one of the other wives called Rose’s pregnancy a miracle and said how are you going to explain the genetics of that. Then Rose said we’ll leave it in the hands of the Lord (or something like that). I haven’t found not one interviewer to ask about this 😒
The comment from the Wife alluded to Rose's disability. If she hadn't been the daughter of a proeminent Commander, she would have been executed just like the other women that we saw in the opening of 3x13.
