what an incredible interview! i’m so thankful to finally see an interview where you get to hear the story of mathew knowles. everything is always about beyoncé but the true knowledge lays within the upbringing and character of parents. which rarely gets the deserved introspection. ❤🎉

I believe that Children manifest what they want/ are meant to be from childhood. We just ignore it because our society is not built that way. I manifested what I was meant to be at 5years old, i saw it over the years at 11 & in my late teens. I had a clear vision in my early yrs. And in my later years(I had lost that vision) I have just believed what I am meant to be for no reason, I just believe & m drawn to that(i now know it). I was just always redirected to what I was not. Children; They COME into the world with a unique touch/reflection/fingerprint of the creator. & Something unique IS meant to be done through them. Children are very unique individuals. They come into the world with a very clear purpose. And I believe they know much much when they are younger than when they are older(after we have shaped & beat it out of them)

This was a very thoughtful provoking conversation that sparked many questions and food for thought.
I think that parents play a pivotal role in helping to shape the trajectory of children's chosen path in life.
As Matthew stated, parents really have to nature and nourish a child's passion in order for them to flourish.
    Great interview!

Wondering how his other kids are feeling? They need and deserve the same as Beyonce and Solange. I'm not judging him for the outside kids, I just know that this could be emotionally damaging for the other kids not mentioned when they see this. Adults do so many things that affect kids & think kids can just be resilient & sweep their feelings under the rug. My mom was ignored by her biological dad while he raised a family with his new wife and kids. My mom is 85, and she still talks about how it made her feel. Make it right Matthew or stop doing public interviews.....it's going to hurt your kids!

Great questions and I love Beyonce's dad. He is a great communicator. I did not like how you think that we chose our parents. Thats ignorant. So those who have been mistreated and abused, you think they would have chose that? If you knew the pain of abuse, neglect, narcissism you wouldn't think that. Not many would choose that life.

If he was smart this wouldn’t have happened for him to have had an affair and created two other human beings, who are innocent, that he help bring into this world. But since they’re here through, no fault of their own, if he was even smarter, he would’ve been involved with their lives, and could’ve probably created the best human beings ever the same way he went about creating Destiny’s Child, but his pride is stupid pride at that and acting like they don’t exist may come back on him someday.

I believe that it already has. He had breast cancer. The breasts are associated with mother, family and nurturing. I'll let you ponder on that to see the connection.

I’m sorry, but this is a man who doesn’t pay attention to his son that he had with his side chick. How about paying attention to raising ALL of your children, not the main daughter that has all the money.
