They must have really wanted that T rating before the E10+ was created. Perhaps the best idea would be to start developing Sonic 06 early instead of making this. That game could've used the extra resources, time, and staff.
What does that have to do with Almost Dead by Powerman 5000? Don't get me wrong, I found it funny as well, I just don't see how... Wait. Of course. Cream is 'almost dead' as well.

Sonic 1 soundtrack is kinda sad a bit, it's a slow decline of happy woodland creatures living in peace to a harsh industrial hell scape. Like it sounds catchy and light hearted but that's because they're pop songs. Pumped up kicks sounds upbeat and nice.
Seeing as how it's meant to be Heavy Metal as opposed to I Am All of Me which is Metal Rock and it's meant to portray Shadow's personal character as evil it does what it's supposed to rather well.
People like to mock this song, but I really think it's fitting for the Dark Endings. Especially the Gun Fortress ones. Shadow is either going to destroy the planet or he's going to conquer the universe. He's gone utterly off the deep end by the end, and this is reflected in the song.
You know I've always found this ending interesting I wonder how silver and shadow would interacting with each other in the future since shadow is immortal .( For the universe's sake I hope sliver wins)
And, at the 3:08 mark, if you turn up the volume, you can hear a deep voice (likely Gerald Robotnik) saying something. This gives the impression that, due to losing his sanity, Shadow is hearing voices (similar to him hearing Gerald Robotnik's voice in the opening cutscene of 'GUN Fortress').
Remember when we thought "Heaven can't save us, Hell is a joke" were the most batshit insane lyrics in a Sonic game? And then Sonic Frontiers fuckin blindsided us with "fuck the pain away, my bed is in ruins"
Shadow: "How many layers of edge are you on?" Infinite: "I am the tallest of mountains, I am the roughest of waves.." Shadow: "You are like a little baby, WATCH THIS."
At the 3:08 mark, you can even hear what appears to be a hallucination of Gerald Robotnik. Meaning that Shadow is so angsty that he hallucinates out of insanity.
Same I was going through the OST and i was like "LMAO WHAT THE FUCK? THIS IS FROM ACTUAL SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG?" i heard it somewhere else and tought it was some random edgy mid 2000s heavy metal song

Powerman 5000...I cannot think of a single band that fits Shadow better. Almost any song from "Anyone for Doomsday" or "Tonight the Stars Revolt" could have worked in-game.
I am all of me - Despite the edgy tone of the song, the lyrics are very well written and mean a lot Infinite theme - Well there’s a bit less thought behind the lyrics and it leans in a lot more to the destroy everything edgy side but it still reflects his character greatly Almost dead - welp.
The issue with Infinite is that he's all edge, no cool or cheese to back him up. Plus, you can't take him seriously at all, especially after Episode Shadow's introduction to him. He does nothing and thinks he's all that. I hate him.

I defy the claim this is "edgy" or "emo". The slang terms "edgy" and "emo" each mean pretentiously dark, and "emo" in particular adds on specifically depression. This song - and most others on the OST - is not depressed, and I for one don't consider it pretentious. Shadow is growing into the new world he has helped to create - and he lightening up and having a good time. This song wouldn't play brooding in a locked room. This song would play while Shadow skates around picking off GUN troops.
This was the theme of the endings in which Shadow had beaten Sonic and Diabolon and acquired all the Emeralds and chose to either help Doom take over the world, chosen to take over the universe himself, or to destroy everyone and everything including himself in a fit of nihilistic rage dedicated to Professor Robotnik. I think this song perfectly fits the tone of all 3 dark endings.
@@brothernero2310 It even fits the ending where he executes Dr. Eggman, his former ally (who saved him from burning up in the atmosphere, though Shadow wasn't aware of this at the time), without a sliver of remorse. For some reason only the official soundtrack for Shadow the Hedgehog is on music platforms, which is only a partial soundtrack. This is the same deal for Sonic Heroes for some reason, which is odd. Both game had full soundtracks back in the day, and there's other Sonic albums that use songs not in said partial soundtracks. At least SA1 and SA2 have their full soundtracks on Spotify.
I remember about a decade ago I found this one music video of this song playing while showing footage of Mephiles the Dark in Sonic 06, but I cannot find it anymore

i don't see how its comedic, at all.
@@Safalmaoit's funny hearing NO MORE GODS NO MORE GRAVE from a fucking sonic game.
@@micjimster4845 guess so
They were REALLY proud of that E10+ rating.
You know you love it.
I find it hilarious how we went from the upeat music from heroes to NO MORE GRAVE NO MORE GODS.
I unironically love this song and this game.
I love how this game sums up shadow: a mysterious, morally grey character trying to find his path in life in a world where there’s no such thing as life or death.
1:34 this part is sick and I love it
The one song we were afraid of our parents hearing.
Music: "Heaven can't save us, Hell is a joke! No place left to go!
My head: *edgy shit*
Me: *gets a gun and smiles* TIME TO FIND THAT DAMN FORTH CHAOS EMERALD! 😎🔫💎
*"DAMN!"*
Exactly fellow shadow, I have an AK and you can use your shotgun, we'll find that damn forth chaos emerald together
I typed “emerald” and 💎 this emoji didn’t show up automatically as an option, is the entire sonic franchise a lie 😖😭
NGL the intro to this song immediately made me think I accidentally clicked on some older Devil May Cry song and I had to check this tab again
I for one ask for another song this dark and angry in a Sonic game.
Please
And people wonder why I became a metalhead when I was raised with songs like this :))
holy shit
Goth girl: he probably doesn't listen to good music

CREAM FINALLY GOT A THEME SONG!!
Nice

I don’t see this for Creams theme but okay

fun fact: this is the only licensed song in the sonic games
I am all of me is not?
Green hill the original from sonic 1 is also licensed i believe
A moment of silence for the track that did not make in into Sonic X Shadow Generations. Maybe in a future patch but this is what was missing from the latest game.
Apparently there's some sort of legal trouble in getting this song in. Shame too really.
Me, a christian gud boi: Well, I like the Sonic franchise a lot and the Shadow the Hedgehog theme songs are awesome, so maybe adding this one might be a go-
Song: N O M O R E G O D S H E A V E N C A N ' T S A V E U S A N D H E L L I S A J O K E

do u still like sonic?
@@frogdudestudios2643 yep. Absolutely.
literally me lol
i had to turn this song down a bit cause of my christian family
Hedgehog May Cry 3:Shadow's Awakening
This game was too dark (and I loved it that way) It should've been rated T.
Korean Takeout It was rated T at one point where the black creature's blood were red than green and they shown Maria's death, but they decided to tone it down
Sega was hoping for a T rating but you know, shit happens
Korean Takeout W H E R E ' S T H E *D A M N* C O M P U T E R R O O M!?!
Where's that DAMN Chaos emerald?
Hi porker
I'd kill for this to be brought back in Sonic X Shadow Generations.
Okay the lyrics may be edgy as hell but the instrumental is siiiiiiiiiiiick
my 3 year old iphone after scrolling twitter for 5 minutes
i fucking love this song
Idk what's more surprising, the fact that there is an official sega soundtrack talking about heaven and hell, or the fact that the OST for this game has over 100 songs...
Persona 3: Puts gun to head
Persona 5: Rips off mask attached to flesh
Sonic Forces: Infinite....
Then there is this........
this might be edgy as hell but edgy music goes hard so its ok
Fr bro
fr bro especially when you workin out
Take out the lyrics and this is actually a freaking awesome song
Nah, this is an awesome song no matter what...even though it's super edgy...
@@floweyseed Wasn't the point of the game to be edgy?
@@The_AuraMaster Yeah, it was to appeal to the kids of America.
Like, legitimately, that's why Sega made this game in the first place.
@@KingKayro87 I thought it was made because people wanted a Sonic character with a gun and Gamma wasn't good enough.
@@The_AuraMaster That too
It's odd that this isn't on Spotify, most of the soundtrack is
16 tracks are missing.
A lot of ShTH tracks are not in Spotify
sad facts
I was searching these songs on Spotify, never been so sad about not finding an ost on Spotify.
This song always seems like it's fit in a Devil may cry game.
For those who are unaware, Powerman 5000 is the younger brother of Rob Zombie. So there's likely some influence in this song.
Sonic is dead...almost.
Infinite's theme vs this one
Infinite's theme is called "Infinite" and i say Infinite
I like this better
I prefer infinite, but that might change when the full version is released.
jump up superstar wins
The full version only made it better.
I remember about a decade ago I found this one music video of this song playing while showing footage of Mephiles the Dark in Sonic 06, but I cannot find it anymore
better be in the movie, i can imagine a version of this being in the background during shadows reveal
I like this song
I can't believe this is not from the Devil May Cry 3 Soundtrack
ITS NOT A PHASE MOM!
By far the funniest song in any sonic game
This fucks unbelievably hard
Me when I tell my parents I don't want to go to church today
_“Heaven can’t save us / Hell is a joke”?!_
_SERIOUSLY??_ this game is ridiculous
It's fucking awesome. Love that line.
The countless amounts that "DAMN" is said.
"This is like taking candy from a baby, which is fine by me"
Whenever I hear this song I can't help but think of Johnny zest kicking everyone in the croutchs
I want a mashup of this and Devils Never Cry.
