    one of the best things beside of being an excellent sim is the platform and gamepad support.
    actually i^m using a gtx 590 bluetooth gamepad for a year now. I'm hooked ;)

    Our FlySky i6x with Sept 2019 firmware works fine with PicaSim directly on android (Nexus 7) via usb-otg. Also works fine with PicaSim on Windows 10 PC via the oem usb cable that comes with the i6x so long as we run the program Xoutput from github ( apparently Xoutput converts 'Direct Input' to Xinput ).

    Someone needs to write some software which sets up Pica Sim for you. Far more complicated than necessary

    Hey great tutorial, how do you make it so that the throddle is on down position and not on the middle.

    • @profrat
      @profrat ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry - slow reply! Not 100% sure what you mean - could be a couple of different things so: 1. To reverse the air brakes (normally on the "throttle" stick for gliders) there's an option in Options1->Controller Settings. 2. If you've set up a gamepad/controller and the throttle stick movement isn't matching the on-screen indicators, go into settings->joystick and click the "left/down and right/up" buttons, for that axis, with the stick in the appropriate place. 3. You can change the mapping of the throttle stick to the motor channel in the settings->controller (advanced) panels. The thing to remember there is that the stick input is in the range -1 to 1, but the motor is driven with a value between 0 and 1. Hence for the "speed stick" you might want to use scale = 0.5 and trim = 0.5... (not sure if that will make sense!)

    Thanks Danny for the instructions you sent me they were very useful. Why when I move the yaw stick on the right side of the controller, on the screen of the PC moves the small box of the coordinates that appear on the left side? I use mode 2 and fly a Cessna 182 of 3 channels. Thanks.

    Could we please have more technical details about this? May I assume the output of the remote your are using is PPM ? That then gets fed directly into the USB OTG port?

    Hi, I have downloaded this app to my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet and my LG G Pad tablet and I am trying to use a GreatPlanes RealFlight USB controller and I cannot get it to function. I downloaded to other RC simulators and both work fine with this controller what can I do to get this controller to work with your app? The controller says USBinterlink by Futaba. Thanks

    Could I connect my Dx6i to picasim on my phone using both a ppm adaptor and usb on the go connector?

    • @profrat
      @profrat 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hopefully yes. I've connected my old Futaba Tx to an Android tablet and phone using a MileHighWings simulator interface plus the USB OTG adapter. I'd expect that if the adaptor connects as a USB game controller under Windows, it will probably work (but no guarantees!)

    • @picasim6696

      In the joystick setup for each control you need to set the centre, minimum and maximum stick/input position. Just work through the buttons - with the stick in the middle press the "Press when centred"button. With the stick pushed to the left (or down, whichever is relevant for that stick), press the "Press when left or down" button. And push the stick right/up for the last button. If your sticks are reversed, check you didn't flip left/right or up/down in this process!

      This sounds like Servo Reversal on your transmitter. It will be a problem when you try to fly a real airplane unless you make sure you install the servos upside down. For my Spectrum DXe the controls were reversed when I got it. You have to find the manual and reset the controls for your transmitter. My DXe has a 9 step process to reset it, but you have to use the chart and the codes from the flashing LED's .
      It is easy to do once you have 1) the instructions; and 2) the codes so you can understand the LED flashes.
      So, try to Google instructions for your transmitter, and then look for Servo Reversal in the instructions.

    Why on Windows 10 in this program does not see the radio control panel Flyski FS-CT6B? Help!

    I have to be negative here because I know you're just trying to help us, but I found your pronunciation terribly difficult to decode, in combination with the washed-out view shown of the setup display on-screen made for a sub-optimal experience..
    I have a Win 10 PC and am so far unable to detect any movement on a Taranis Lite USB controller that is set up and working 100% Ok under another flight sim called "wings sim".. So, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong Why I can detect the Aileron ( Roll) stick but not several of the others.. and I need to do to fixit.. I'm going to try and use the built in controller test module in Windows next.. Please help..

    how to use a normal transmitter on android pls explain

    • @profrat
      @profrat 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly as in the video - except you'll need to get a USB simulator interface cable to go between the transmitter and the USB OTG cable.

    Here's a video showing how to set up a controller under Android or Windows (both are almost identical):

    thanks for the video, at least I can understand the basics, but your explanation as to how to set up the transmitter, is very poor, can you please explain again, this time say clearly which stick movement belongs to which setting ie yaw pitch speed ect.
    I am totally confused, why don't you number the boxes
    for example, speed, zero right hand stick left , then zero right hand stick right
    use each box to set up an axis, and remove the confusing left/right/up/down
    very annoyed, spent three hours trying to set this up, and it still dose not work.
    by the way also make the save visible without going into advanced setting
    you need to make it simpler than it is at the moment that's for sure
    apart from that I was dying to have a go with my DX6i
    sorry about the rant, but please simplify it.

      Sorry it isn't as clear as it needs to be! Quite often it's hard to know whether one has explained things in a way that will be clear to someone who doesn't already know what is going on (for example - I'm afraid I don't follow your suggestion at all!).
      In this case, watching the video again, I think it's missing an explanation of what you're actually trying to do:
      Each section (e.g. Joystick 0, Joystick 1 etc) sets up the mapping from a physical input to a "virtual" stick movement. That's complicated by the way that you can combine - e.g. use combinations of accelerometer, keyboard and on-screen/touch/mouse controls. That's why the mapping is a bit more complicated than in, say, a desktop simulator.
      So - the procedure is:
      1. In settings->options select your desired transmitter mode. Make sure you haven't got any mixing etc set up in your transmitter - should be a "vanilla" model setting.
      2. Set up the top section in settings->joystick - so clear everything with the button, then select the controller input, tick the box if it's a gamepad (with circular, rather than square, input ranges) etc.
      3. Go through the analogue controls on your controller one by one. For example, wiggle the right stick left & right.
      4. Scroll up/down until you start seeing some numbers change. This tells you which section you're going to be editing.
      5. If you fly mode 2, move the slider to map onto the "roll" stick (I know... ailerons, but this has to work for all plane types).
      6. With the stick in the middle, press the "centred" button.
      7. With the stick at full left or down (whichever is relevant), press the "left/down" button. Similarly for right/up.
      8. Check that as you move the stick from left to right the output goes from -1 to +1.
      9. Now go back to step 3 with a different control input.
      10. If you want to map buttons, then you can do the same thing there.
      You're right that the save button should be exposed by default (or perhaps - you should need to click advanced to modify all these details anyway).
      UI design is surprisingly hard. It doesn't seem like it should be, but just try it! Actually, for me it's been the hardest part of this whole project - any any feedback is appreciated. However, development time is limited, so the balance between UI/ease of use and the simulation side has been more towards the latter.
      If the info above isn't enough to get things working, then let me know (or let me know if it is!), so I know how to improve things for others too. It's actually a very quick procedure once you figure it out!
      Cheers - Danny

    You need to speak up a bit and not repeat yourself. Also have your volume of voice at a constant volume not high then low. Last know what exactly what you're going to say before recording video. Thanks
