That was basically the same thing for me but in elementary. I was the nerdy one and the soccer kids were so popular. And the only times when I was able to play was either during PE or, when I join a friend. It was basically 20 minutes of fame

When I was little I was GREAT with stamina and the fastest in school, I was insane with my dash, BUT I got my foot twisted and right after leg hurt, and ya... my mile went from 7min to 14... and it only went lower and that 7 was after twisted ankle and before leg damage

I'm a swimmer and I did track in 6th grade cause y friend was doing it. It was not fun though to go from track to swim practice. I was basically dead at the end of the day. I have great swimming endurance but not running endurance. I quit after 2 weeks, and I don't regret it

I’m mostly bad at soccer and basketball, football too, and okay at volleyball, but I’m a wrestler, they make us run a lot too, waiting for the whistle is just torture so I try to keep my mind off of when the run will end, combat sports pique my interest
