    Your YT channel is *way* underrated, I really appreciate that you share your flights and thoughts with the world. Thank you from a pilot wannabe in the US, you encourage with every video!

    Hi Matt, good to see your still flying ! I first talked to you at the beginning of covid. You were the first ultralight i learned about, and i commented on your video going up to 10,000 ft. Well, i haven't made it off the ground yet ! But i bought myself a legal eagle project to get me there and started a channel to share what i learned and what mistakes i make. And hopefully, get advice from people who know more than me. THANKS for inspiring me !

    Nice video Matt! Sure would like to see you strap on some floats in the spring and do some really remote adventures!!!

    Now that was pleasant to wake up to. Thanks for the reminder about slip vs skid.

    Did a soft field landing and take off last week. The grass is like having a foot on the breaks… nice video.

      I just got up for the first time in months just a few days ago. It's been really crappy weather here lately.

    Thanks for the ride-along! You demonstrated one of my favorite maneuvers, the slip...In flying the CTLS, I got pretty good at forward slips to landing (I was usually chronically high on final), and was taught the so-called "slip-roll", a kind of wig-wag maneuver so as to learn to slip in both directions...I also enjoyed soft-field takeoffs, levelling off just as the mains leave the ground, then accelerating in ground-effects; a slight tug aft on the stick produced quite spectacular climbs! Is the Apollo Fox a new acquisition? Looks like a capable STOL performer; now you're getting ready for STOL competition!

    Great vid ,thanks. I would like to see you use the flaps for T/O and Landings sometime. Just to see if they make much of a difference. Appreciate your work.

      @mmatt  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@albergan3174 I used them. Hard to see since they're flaperons but if you watch right after the first take-off, you can see them being retracted. I find that while they help significantly with reducing the stall speed, they don't do much at all for adding drag.

    Love it!
    I'm looking to buy a apollofox.
    Would like to se everyting, daily Inspections, changing tyres, storage compartment etc.
    Please film everything😊
    I'm in the process om build my own grass runway and i'm figuring out the dimensions.
    Do you think a 1500×65feet grass runway is okay for all normal conditions?
    Or do you think I can make it even shorter?

    • @mmatt
      @mmatt  หลายเดือนก่อน

      1500' would be ideal especially if you're very much above sea level. I think 1000' would be fine most of the time but when it's hot and humid in the summer, you'll be really thankful for the extra 500' I think.

    Hey Matt idk how to get ahold of you but they are going to be flying some drones around the Woodstock airport looking for that missing Brandon pickle guy

    • @hb4lwade1
      @hb4lwade1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Us drone pilots want to help but unfortunately some of us are unlicensed

    • @mmatt
      @mmatt  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I hope they can find him. The weather has been so bad lately that drones are probably the only things flying around here. Hopefully they don't have the same limitations that we do.
