I use to live there , and it's sad to see it the way it is now. I loved growing up there, and use to think I would like to move back one day. But seeing this let's me know that I will never be able to move back and it be the way it was and I remembered it.
Sadly, Texas City has been allowed to become a hillbilly town. One drive through the town and you'll see that they no longer enforce the requirement to add additional parking space for extra vehicles and trailers. Instead, citizens are allowed to park their cars and trailers in the yard. 🙄 Not joking. 😢 Also, there are many yards in TC where people have junk all over their *FRONT* yards. 😱 Don't think that this only holds true for the poorer neighborhoods. This is happening in nice, middle class neighborhoods. It gets worse every year. Why the standard has been lowered is a mystery. TC has much potential, but it's being squandered. That's especially sad for those of us who grew up in our beloved TC - in poor neighborhoods. Anymore, TC has come to mean Trashy City.
