Hey Chris your videos are great! I've only watched a couple of em and have realized how much time I could save on projects, and with this now I understand how to apply proper compression. (I've been using the dynamics effect smh)

Love this for dialogue and VO's. Only question is, should the output gain be eased off to avoid over modulation, or should a hard limiter be applied at around -2db to cap any potentially over modulated audio?

It's never a bad idea to put a hard limiter of around -3 db on the mix track, so if you make a mistake in one of the other channels you won't accidentally blow your eardrums off. Once you're done editing you can raise that if you want.

    Hello Chris,
My microphone usually echo while I'm recording a video, and I discover this after I'm done shooting the video.
how to I avoid or remove these echo from my video?

    • @BrockA_YT

De-Reverb can help with echo in post but to avoid it you need to add a noise filters, compressor, expander, etc. There are a lot of videos you can find on TH-cam that touch on how to both remove and avoid echo!

In my install of premiere no compressor works correctly... I just today tried an Ozone compressor I use in Ableton in Premiere and literally saw -15 db of gain reduction do NOTHING to the audio output in Premiere... before today I thought i was the single band compressor that didn't work correctly... now I see that Premiere isn't responding to compressors correctly... you have to push the settings to around 50 db of gain reduction to get around 20... but the point of using the compressor is, I want to catch peaks... not crush the single completely... which is all you seem to be able to do with premiere considering it doesn't work with compressors correctly. Anyone else have this problem, I tried to ask this question the the Adobe forums and the idiots there had no clue what so ever what I was even talking about they are so fucking stupid.
