    I think that the target audience for this palette--folks that are afraid of color, don't use it very often, or don't want a lot of sparkle and shine--will really enjoy it. For folks who regularly and (now) prefer the razzle dazzle and intensity of indie shimmers and multichromes, this palette is not for us. And that's OK. I have the pastel palette from PIMBY and that's enough for me. I definitely think this this was a smart choice for the ND brand. Now if only Pat...anyway, thanks for your review.

    • @staceyb3007
      @staceyb3007 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You nailed it! I am not afraid of colour or sparkle or shine (love it) but I AM definitely the target customer as I am also not the one leaning into these intense indy brands - but I enjoy the concepts of the indy eyeshadow. As for Pat, her mattes are just tooooo dark for my fair skin! But I try anyway :) love her sparkle.

    • @beingashope
      @beingashope 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I looked up the palette from PIMBY and if I used that on my very fair skin it would lean more bright neon. It would work great for medium to darker skin tones though to be a true pastel without being chalky. I received my ND pastel palette and did a look today and it is true pastels on my skin with great payoff. I like softer looks. I love it!

      It totally makes sense for them, and I mentioned it’s not my preference of eyeshadow. But regardless if people want a wash of color they can get it for much cheaper from other brands.
      I think PMG will release 50 more pink palettes before they ever touch blue or purple 🤣

    I love wearing colour but I’m now in my forties and indie brands just look too much on my eyes. You have to remember that Natasha is older and has said she makes palettes that contain ingredients that flatter the older eye. Thank you for the comparisons it makes it clear whether this palette is right for the individual or not.

      I totally agree with this, what bugged me was the price vs quality I’ve seen some really beautiful pastel shades that are subtle and to charge that much for shades that are already in other palettes, I just think it’s a little pricey for what your getting I guess 🥺

    • @exomake_mehorololo
      @exomake_mehorololo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I don't find her formula looks any better on my eyes than any other of my brands drugstore or high end and I have quite dry and hooded eyes.. If all her mattes can be patchy and I have nicer mattes elsewhere. There is different levels of pigmentation in drugstore and with indie brands too and better blendability... No need to pay her prices

    • @badtothebrow
      @badtothebrow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      I did touch on the fact that Im not the target audience. But also she only seems to use younger models? Specifically for the launch of this palette, it was all editorial pastel looks on 20~ year old models. You can get washes of color from other brands for much cheaper

  • @deenajones7747

    I am actually not a ND fan. I have the retro palette and a few others and honestly I never use them. I have pastel pup, I have all of terra moons eyeshadows including the pastel, beauty bay pastel palette, bernovich, and list goes on so I don't need this palette. I rarely use any of my mainstream palettes honestly. My indie brands give me all I need and Blow mainstream shimmers completely away. That being said u still pulled out some awesome looks today!!! Congrats on the 12k!!! Im so proud for u!!! Whoop whoop! 7k was so yesterday!!!!

    BTW, the multichrome is described as "NEW formula: a vibrant translucent multichrome that can be worn alone or as an illuminating topcoat"
    So it wasn't supposed to be subtle, certainly not powdery.

    I have some ND palettes and the cream to powders are usually deeper in the pan, and ND has mentioned this when talking about her palettes - of course I would prefer if they looked consistent! I do really like the cream to powders because they are so blendable and powder shadows build really well with them. I really want this palette, it is much more accessible to those US indie brands as I am in the UK and shipping is so high from the US to here and some don't offer it. I know this palette isn't to your preference but I thought your looks looked sooo pretty and flattering on you and I still want to get the palette!

    Her cream to powder rarely builds up to pan for me -- I noticed it especially in Retro which is majority cream to powder. I love her standard creamy matte formula so much and didn't realize she had put cream to powder in Pastel. It definitely feels like an odd choice to me. I like her deeper cream to powder shades because that makes them very approachable, easy to use, and minimizes fallout. All these things don't really apply to pastels, which need to be more opaque and pigmented. Sure hope I like mine when it arrives tomorrow 😁 I have been really let down by every single pastel indie palette I tried except Pastel Pup and Fun Sized (which isn't super pastel) and ND Pastel really ticked all my boxes.

    I appreciate how this palette is truly pastel. I think some pastel palettes lean more into brights but I understand that works better for all skin tones due to color payoff. For example, the Glamlite Ice Cream Dream Palette. However, I am very fair skinned and appreciate the light wash of color for a softer look. Mine is arriving today and I can’t wait to try it out. I do have some indie brand pastel palettes like Creepy Cute that I love, but there’s always room for more pastels in my collection!

    Thank you for reviewing this palette. I was in the fence about this. I trust your reviews because I seem to love the palettes you love and dislike the ones you dislike. I adore the Red Giant shade from Terra Moons and they do it best! You rock! 💜 Hadassah Side note I’ve seen a few “women in their forties” who like this palette and that’s awesome for them. I’m 47 and I still love indie brands, sparkle, metallics, glitter, and multichromes. I just didn’t want all women in their 40’s to be put in that box. 💜

    For a brand that has been a lot of ppl's No1 for eyeshadow, and been around for so long AND has very expensive palettes along with liquid shadows, NDs shiftier shades continue to be lacklustre. Now the whole product is lacklustre🙄. She not keeping up with indie brands and as far as luxury but she has luxury pricing? I think some ppl are of the mind that if theyre gonna buy luxury shadows, they want it to *look* expensive (charlotte tilbury/tom ford/by terry/some nars). If they're more concerned with quality and excitement, they'll go indie. If they want both... Pat :/
    If it weren't for ND's matte formula and convenient minis, she'd have lost a lot of her previously ride-or-die fans. At this point some fave palettes are gone 😪
