Can anyone ever get too excited by this musical personification of blessing and honour and glory and power???!!!
I believe that this is one of the most accurate versions of the symphony, performed as Saint-Saens intended! Magnificent!
The recording is distorted, yes, but the intensity behind this performance is purely delightful. Among my favorite performances of this piece.
ZiggysBand Amen, you're absolutely right and I agree with u 100% I've checked numerous other performances of the same piece but this one's the best. Recording sucks unfortunately but the density, sheer force, sense of drama are very strong under this less known conductor from Eastern Europe. Btw, organist is splendid.
Thank you Mr Television Director for showing the pianists. So many TH-cam videos do not show the pianists. I feel like I am flying to heaven during that portion of the 4th movement. 0:27
The best part!
i remember the wonderful film!
@@karinalidakihle3535 Which film?
YES! And again, I say YES!
Yes! That piano part is for four hands. Even better if two grands can be used. 😀
Thanks Roy for your compliments! This performance was broadcasted on hungarian TV, but not released on CD/DVD yet. But it's on TH-cam!;) Thanks again! Mate
Absolutely fabulous. I loved the organist. Looks like he's having one hell of a time
The director (of the filming) switches the camera view away from the organ just as he's about to play (at one point).
The greatest recording of this work is that by Charles Munch and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The recording engineers even removed some of the seating in the hall to get the sound balance perfect and as a recorded performance it will never be equalled. However, this is the best live performance with superb artistry by everyone concerned. It's a truly glorious. experience.
The most impressive symphony of history!
Adds emotive inspirational energy to White Light meditations.
Definitely the window to Heaven, right here on Earth! And, yes, thank you for showing the pianists. Five Stars to the orchestra, the organist, and, of course, to Saint-Saens. I am an agnostic, but I believe in God and Heaven when I listen to this masterpiece.💎💎💎💎💎
@kentrobertb I was there for the Friday 11 am concert. It was also my first time hearing that organ. The last chord was so loud, I think I'm still shaking from the vibrations. It was a great way to cap off my winter break.
Saint-Saens is from the ordinary-public so underrated .. in fact he is one the greatest classical muscians ever !!!
I agree. Saint-Saens is terribly underrated while Beethoven, in my opinion, is grossly OVER-rated.
There is only one word to describe this - magnificent! I love the smile on the face of the organist.
Goosebumps.
Aside from the absolutely brilliant work by the organist and the pianists, that has got to be the most awesome and aggressive trumpet sections I’ve heard so far in recordings of this piece. Top notch!
I get a tingle up my spine when the dual piano plays starting at 0:30, then the organ opens up...sublime. Nice recording, just wish I could actually have been at the performance in person and feel the power vibrating through the floor. Hard to do classical music justice on a home sound system.
SO TRUE!!! I didn't know Saint-Saens had included a contra in this!! This must be the only work in history that includes a piano, an organ and a contrabassoon! Just awesome!!!
the organ was also included on the second movement
The formality of the organ and the childish playfulness of the piano make this extremely touching.
Fascinating. This little regional orchestra that I've never heard of conjures up more power in this piece than the vast majority of world-famous bands that attempt it.
I'm so glad I can still find good music in this world!
Wonderful!!! Thank you.
As long as one enJoys it … & no critters were harmed in either body, soul, or spirit ;) … it is wonderful.
CS-S was crazy. A finale that include 6 keyboard hands [4 on the same piani! :)) plus 2 for organ] with 2 organ pedal-playing is beckoning some rambunctiousness, which was masterfully successful.
One of my favorite finales & a terrific rendition.
Splendid performance.
Thank you again
Bravo!
Enfin une interpretation digne de loeuvre
Made me cry all over again. May Peace reign "on earth as it is in heaven." Well done! CVD
this is the most physical exhausting piece of music, I ever listened to. Its pure power and magic, wonderful.
Believe it or not, my high school is going to play this as our marching band finale. As a trumpet, this is going to be amazing to play some of those brass moments in this.
I first heard this piece in early '82 and was fortunate enough to perform it during Spring of '89. The finale is one of my all-time favorite symphonic endings!
A true masterpiece of genius throughout! I am especially attentive to the piano duets just into the 4th movement. When highlighted and when two play this section, it is so special.
In a world of senseless "music", this and another 100 symphonies, sonatas and concertos lifts one from the morass!
The piano-four-hands segment you are talking about was what first made this work one of my favorites. That segment is simply divine; I don't know how else to describe it.
Guy on the organ is like "I have power at my fingertips"!!!
@@noravidal7740 when playing the organ, one can only be full of Heavenly and ethereal energy. It's like you're commanding the orchestras of the skys all on your own!
One man sitting apart from the rest at that big organ...and the POWER at his fingertips...simply awesome.
I find myself smiling throughout this wonderful, exhilarating rendition of this marvelous composition! And...I do love the camera work showing the instrumentalists playing "their" special notes! A most GREAT performance of this incomparably unforgetable "Babe" melody throughout! Just GREAT!!! Thanks so much!
Gratulálok Máté, nagyon precíz munka!!!
Me too.
Nothing to be ashamed of.
If I hadn't watched "Babe" I would never have heard "If I Had Words", and then would never have known about Saint Saens.
God bless Babe.
a touch fast for my liking, but still one of my favorite versions because there is so much organ
Very louddddddd!!!! Very gooddddddd!!!! THANKS A MILLION for posting!
Éclat extraordinaire de la musique française.
Absolutely fantastic ! This organ is incredibly powerful !
i know this music since I was a kid of 5 years old...It's just amazing.
In the church whe went to I always played the parts in my head during the boring talk of the guy in the church :-)
I LOVE this performance from the thunderous C Major opening to the breathtaking timpani at the end. Thank for posting! Good work!
Never tire of this recording.
Wonderful, gives me goosebumps. I like the tempo and loudness of this performance.
A full orchestra gives us vision to the potential of cooperation, harmony and glorious beauty. It is the exact opposite of the sordid decay of politics.
fantastic rendition of the 4th movement. pianists especially good, one of the best and in one of Europe's best cities
This is the only TH-cam video I can find that shows the two pianists. My favorite part. I can put up with the slight distortion. It isnt that bad.
So good to hear an organ powerful enough to stand up to a full orchestra. On some recordings here on TH-cam, the organ gets covered up by the orchestra. It may be the recording, or it may be the organ. The first time I heard this piece live, the organ was powerful enough that its first chord literally knocked some in the audience out of their seats. That's how it should be.
Une version absolument grandiose. La musique française n'a rien à envier aux autres.
A truly astonishing piece of music, deserves to be played very LOUD!
Every time I hear it, it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand-up!
If you ever feel the need to blow-up an amplifier and/or speakers, put this on and turn-up the volume to '11'!
I think you're right.... I had two extension speakers connected and was fearful of their safety, at this volume.... I paused playing, halfway through, to turn them off, and have to go upstairs to check whether they survived!
Absolutely AMAZING performance!!
Máté - perfect tempo. You walk hand in hand with God - as is clear on your face in the last seconds. Thank you.
Wow, extraordinaire !
And 12 Double Basses! Saint-Saens really wanted to emphasize those low notes! :D
Thank you for uploading this wonderful piece.
Music like this transcends human fallibility and raises us to the status of God. Imagine what we would be without it.
BRAVO 👏
The best.
Largest Orchestra I can ever recall seeing, experiencing
Thankyou so much !!! so beautiful, powerful!
Certainement une des meilleures versions que j'ai entendu depuis longtemps.
Tout y est, l'harmonie, la grandeur de cette symphonie est vraiment sublimée totalement dans cette interprétation.
what a great and fantastic Finale from Budapest......overwhelming.....
Excuse me, but in taking tips from down below I replayed this phenomenal recording, and yes, that young organist was having too much fun, and I too enjoyed the pianists.
WASP
How can you be an organist and not have fun playing this piece? In my opinion, the organ is the star of the show! If I were the organist, I would pull all the stops out and blow the roof off the building on that opening C major chord!!
Truly magnificent !!!! A wonderful, emotional masterpiece superbly played. It sent shivers up my spine, especially with the organ and piano duet :)

One of the most powerful compositions ever been composed on earth; in a breathtaking performance!
How wonderful to experience this orchestra perform this grand and stirring symphony
I have this on an LP. It rolls pleasantly along until that organ crash and then my house is filled with the excitement of it.
a conductor who knows we aren't there to watch him - the part where he took the orchestra from ppp to ffff with only the slightest movement was genius.
Very powerful, full forced, and solemn. Excellent performance of the majestic Final Movement. Bravo.
absolute magical I am inlove with this
Thanks for posting this . This is my favorite recording and I have listened as well as purchesed several. I really enjoyed the tempo .
Magnifique interprétation pleine de fougue ... un régal !
This is gorgeous and full of life! One of my favourite videos of this lovely music.
Interprétation et exécution magistrales. Bravo !
Very powerful and moving performance, the best Saint Saens No.3 I've ever heard since Karajan's 1982 recording of Pierre Cochereau's performance of the ORGAN at the Norte Dame on DG. Towering and tremendous, the sound-image which should sound like. Bravo.
Great performance of one of the greatest pieces of music written. Thanks
Fantastic !! The sound is full and complete - just as it should be.
Very nice I love it
That was great.......I've played that piece before....the organist was great and so was the orcchestrea.
A wonderful piece of music done well. Rejoice we can appreciate art work anywhere in the world, anytime!!
Stunning!
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.
Amazing!❤️❤️❤️
Bravo Maestro!
Mr. Hamori conducts this at a very refreshing up tempo! Bravo!
Superb!!!
Most impressive - Wonderful job to all concerned. Post more and more.
Masterpiece.
great editing!
Fantastic brass.
Awesome
......absolutely mind blowing....no wonder Saint Saens commented that he had no more "juice in the tank" on its completion......
ho la belle pianiste!!!!
Adding a little something I just noticed. This is a mighty huge orchestra alright, and the brass section is well represented! However...rarely does one get to see...
a CONTRA BASSOON!!!!! Look for it...it's a monster!!!!!
WOW! How exciting!!!! This is just a most exciting rendition, and I've heard many of them! Thank you Mate Hamori! and You Tube! WOW!!!! Watch at about 7:10 or so.
chapeau!!!!!
Zimmer seemed heavily inspired by Camille for Interstellar for sure. I love them both :)
That's freakin amazing! Even better than Babe!
The Real Thing is always better than the imitation or derivative. :)
Dear David James..... If you do not like the recodring, or sound quality here... Please remember, it is a You-Tube presentation.
How about you slap some vinyl in your B&O and get relief there... ?
I am glad that this vigorous and accurate presentation has been made here... Go and trundle about in you new cashed in annuity car and stop nit-picking nit-wit.
There are literally 12 contrabass 🤯🤯
Thats one hell of a bass section
