Ash Daly the black ones name is ebony the white and brown one is lulu and all brown one with ears/a lop is mocha which he passed away :( there is also a gray one named sterling and another black one named belle which she passed to :(
I just rescued a bunny on Monday. She's about a year old and was spade a month before I got her. When I brought her home she instantly took a liking to my yorkie (I knew the yorkie liked bunnies prior to getting one). I'm extremely happy that my dog can go into her pen and just hang out and the bunny doesn't mind her being in there. Today she even binkied around my dog and my dog was like freaking out trying to figure out what was going on lol. Just thought I'd share this :)
Although she mentions it in the video it is VERY IMPORTANT to always have a towel, or clipboard at all stages of the bonding process. never go into a bonding session without something to physically seperate the bunnies unless you like having bloody arms. My bunnies love me but when they attack another rabbit the go into a blind rage and will bite you
Fab vid. Thanks. We are adopting a baby girl who is basically blind as she was born with cataracts. She will be bonded with our almost 2 year old boy, very slowly and gently and this gave me some very good tips. Much appreciated. =)
that is one technique that seems to work the most. having the bunnies be a little scared help to stop aggressive behavior and help them realize "hey, its kind of nice to have a furry body snuggled up next to me."
Otis the mini loop I feel like the rspca have the best approach when it comes to bonding. Slow, calm and patient. It should take up to 6 weeks. Here is a link www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/pets/rabbits/company/bonding
When I first started to try to bond two of my girls they ignored each other for a long while, Im glad to know its a good thing, I was a bit worried they didn't like each other were much.
This was very helpful! I have a rabbit and have been wanting to find a friend to keep him company when I'm not around. I wouldn't have known any of this without this video, so thank you! :)
In the video I explain that humping is very common in bonding. It is in no way a sexual thing, it is a dominance thing. Mocha is telling Ebony he is dominate. Completely normal and common in bonding
+Hamsters Minecraft And More I don't believe females can, only because (I believe) male rabbits do the mating, not the other way around. Don't quote me on that, because I'm not sure. :) Besides, male, not only in rabbits but other animals, prove to other males they're the 'top dog', if you know what I mean.
Suggestions please on where to start the binding process when my existing bun is free roaming? His main living area is our loft upstairs. This is where he sleeps at night. He hasn't been in an xpen for a while.
Found this really helpful, will definitely re-watch this if I get another bunny in the future, as I lost both my bunnies within a few weeks of each other to unknown causes before Christmas, they were both sudden and unexpected, I miss them both greatly 🐰
Thanks so much, this is a great video!! I'm about to bond two boys and I'm so nervous! I have read a lot about it. They are both neutered, and it has been about 6 weeks since the last neuter so we are ready!
I was wondering cuz I haven't seen this address yet. But if you're bringing a new bunny in the house, should you bond with that bunny first and then the two bunnies? The bunny we brought home is very freaked out and I'm not sure if that's going to make it harder or not? So I was trying to figure out if we should get her used to us and then introduce her to the bun that we already have or just do a trial by fire?
I have two rabbits, and they were not from the same litter, but lived with each other when we adopted them both. Male and female, so we had to separate them once they could mate, and until they got spayed and neutered, then when they healed, we put them together again. We don’t have a cage, just a pen, and when they want out, we lift the pen up so they can go out, but sometimes I carry them out for a little pet pat, and they run around to exercise. They bonded fairly easily, so I think it just has to do with personality of rabbit. Sometimes they go together quickly, sometimes not. :>
My two female rabbits aren’t spayed and have been successfully bonded, which I’m aware is very uncommon, however I’ll still be getting them spayed in December due to the other benefits:) I’m sad they’ll have to be kept apart for a while:(
Vanilla Fox I’m getting my second lionhead on Tuesday..I’m nervous about the bonding process but I don’t think my current rabbit will be aggressive toward the new one 🤞🏻
My rabbits are both males but they came from the same litter and lived together for about 5 months before they started fighting. Im getting them neutered soon and after they healed i really want to bond them. Is it ok to bond 2 males that previously lived together?
Bunny Lover You really know nothing, I've seen a few of your comments on here and it is clear you haven't got a clue. Gender doesn't matter when bonding, it comes down to the bunny's personality. Forcing homosexuality? 😅😅
No your not supposed to. I read an article online talking about if they live together then start showing aggression or fighting, it is unlikely that they will ever be able to live together again. But you can still try.
I'm planning on getting a new bunny to bond with my single male, his brother passed away a few months ago after being separated because of fighting (the one who passed away suddenly started attacking Peter and not allowing him to eat to a dangerous level, so I had to separate for Peter's safety and health). Now that he has been alone for a few months and is back to full health and a healthy weight I think it would be better to give him some new company before I'm in college and I'm home less often than now. this video has been a huge help to me as it is my first time trying to bond two rabbits together
My bunny’s are in a split cage rn so they can see each other and my boy bunny that just got fixed a week ago is like moving the barriers the middle and trying to get to my new bunny is this bad?
I'm getting a foster to adopt bunny on Sunday since they aren't doing speed dating due to covid. The 2 weeks I have her they are only to be introduced to each other by scent. Hopefully everything goes well!
I have bonded my mini lop doe Blueberry with another mini lop, and I wish I didn't bother bonding her with another rabbit. We had such a wonderful relationship with her, and that's why we thought she also needed to have a relationship with her own kind. She always looked so joyful. However, we saw a big change in her personality after the bond. She just became a follower, and it's very sad to see. I'm not going to separate them, but I just wanted to send a warning because all you hear about is its good for the bunny.
When I first got my second rabbit I just put her right in her side of the run I had. She and my other rabbit immediately started fighting through the chicken wire barrier. My mom told me it was ok to let them fight, but it resulted in a nasty cut on my new rabbit's nose. For some reason after that they were fine with each other, and soon became best friends.
i have a male who just got neutered. he will be 1 month of neutered in a week. my female is not spayed but i’m scared to get her spayed bc my other female didn’t make it after the surgery. how do i work with that?
I am currently working on a project for a TH-cam video that involves me informing people about the risks of buying rabbits during Easter. I currently don’t have a rabbit, but I would possibly love to use your rabbits in my video. I am asking permission and all credit will be given back to the owner. I would love if you could respond before Easter Sunday. Thank you so much!
Thanks for this helpful video! We are in the pre-bonding period. Do you think I have to remove the territorial poop? (my 1st bunny lives free, and the new one in a crate)
I would love to stress bond my rabbits. I’m lost though. my first time introducing my bunny to my new bunny, the one i’ve had for a while literally lost her cool. It wasn’t in a stressful environment so she wasn’t scared. But she immediately attacked my new bunny and pulled out a load of fur. I would want to put them in a carrier together in my car and drive, but i’m too scared i’m gonna leave the car with one bunny in the lightest of terms. someone please give me advice for this
Maybe have someone else drive while you have the rabbit carrier on the car floor and are ready to separate the rabbits with gloved hands or a clipboard. If things get really bad, a separate carrier-even if just a cardboard one-might be necessary. The drive can be just in a residential area and not far from home just in case it’s best to turn back.
We adopted a female spayed bunny today as a friend for our male neutered bunny. They are currently in separate spaces. When I put them together very briefly, the first thing that happened was the male chasing her to mount her. She wasn't fond of this. There was a lot of thumping. I ended the session fast because I was concerned for her. She is actually still healing from her spay surgery. I assume it would be better if we waited a little longer for her to be more healed first? I was too helicopter mom during that... lol
My bunnys are separated using a fence at the moment. One has just been spayed and the other is getting done soon. They sometimes nibble each other but it has not been bad. They lay next to each other too. Today the spayed one (girl) has been chasing (with ears down) the one who has been there first (boy). It has come over all of a sudden and I'm a bit worried. Fingers crossed they will be bonded soon
Thank you so much for this informative step by step video. We’ve had Booger and Bean for just about a year now and we adopted them bonded and spayed. They seem to have fallen out of their bond so I’m hoping that these steps will help rekindle their love for each other :-) One question I have is around neutral areas. We live in a small apartment in which they occupy half the living room. We don’t have any other areas that would function as a neutral area other then the bath tub. For the cementing process would it work to shrink down their normal enclosure and grow it from there?
I have one 8 month old rabbit and I just got a 2 month old rabbit... the older one is aggressive and the young one does not want any conflict and just runs away. I've tried stress bonding and have had them both in a bathtub for a few sessions. The older one gets relaxed sometimes but the younger one always holds still in the corner. She always seem scared of the oldest. I've only been at it for a week but they don't seem to be getting any closer. What should I do? Am I doing it right?
My mom got me two bunnies and I'm trying to do my research and do what is best for them. I put them together in my room with close supervision and they were basically exploring and turning their backs on one another, and occasionally sniffing one another curiously. One was even binkying! They got pretty close and they were fine with the other sticking their face into their fur before they started chasing one another and I put them back in their respective cages. My parents aren't too keen on spending the money for getting them spayed. Do you think it's necessary for these two?
We are getting bunnies in about a week but they won't be neutered/spayed yet. they are all boys from the same nest so would I have to separate them and then bind them?
How long can this process may take? Thinking to adopt a 2yo spayed female bunny from spca, burial ready have a 10months old neutered bunny at home. What do you recommend ? I am really nervious about bonding
I have 3 rabbits, 2 does and 1 buck. All 3 in different cages/playpens/condos. I do have a new 12 week coming home from a rescue. 1 doe is 5 years old and the other is 7 months old. They have regular play dates already. So I am planning on slowly bonding my 7 m. old with the new baby, since she has had a few other playmates and has shown very good signs of liking other rabbits. Is there any other suggestions to make this stage go properly. I am planning on eventually keeping them in a play area together, but making a new bigger one in the process of the bonding. I have had play dates before but never bonded a rabbit to live together. Oh and I really enjoy all your videos. They have helped me out a lot in the last year. Thank you very much. I am all ears for advise
one of my bunnies isn't neutered, but my other two are. larry (the one who isn't neutered) is not agressive and is sweeter then my two others. should i still get him neutered before?
I have a 2 year old mini lop male and recently took him for a bunny date with a 4 year old holland lop female. The male tried to show dominance in the beginning but is it a bad sign that the girl was thumping? Not sure if it was because of me. Other than that she seemed chill, like she would lay down and sniff him. At the end of it they had their faces close together. I really need to learn to be more calm too, I always think worst case scenario like they will fight. But we are hoping for a second date to see if they still like/remember each other. I'd really like a friend/companion for my boy Bobbs.
I’m getting two new male bunnies soon. They’ll be neutered on August 12 and I’ll get to take them home a few days after. They are not bonded and don’t know each other yet. How long should I wait after their neutered to prebond them? I’ve read you should wait 4-6 weeks to bond them, but I’d like to know when I should start prebonding. Should I let them settle for a week in their pens side by side without seeing eachother? Or will they get too territorial over their pens? Should I give them a day and then start switching toys and blankets in their pens? I’m not sure because only days after the neuters they will still have those hormones, so they might not be happy about the prebonding. Please help. Thank you.
Please could you give me some advice? I have a neutered male and entire female I’m trying to bond. I’ve been swapping cages and toys for a few weeks. After reading on some forums, I just let them meet in a neutral place and... my male (Jack) attacked my female, he started circling and just as I was picking him up to put him back in his cage, he bit her. She’s okay but shaken. I am going to try putting them together in a carrier and going for a walk, like the Car Method but I don’t have a car lol. I want to try this a couple times then let them meet in a neutral place again. What do you think to this? Thanks for any help!
How can I rebond my rabbits? We have a home in CA and in AZ. They were born in May 2015 and were bonded when I got them, they are brothers. They were both fixed in August of last year in CA, there was some natural fighting during that process but when we took them to AZ they were bonded. We came back to CA for a couple of months and they picked territories and fought so badly that I had to take them to be checked out by a vet. How do I rebond my rabbits?
after each bonding session do you put the buns back in their respective pens or switch them those times? Then once the space is the "desired" size then do not put them back into their pens, do I need two separate litters or one bigger litter for them to share?
but what if i dont have the money to fix my 2 males? the female im lookin to get will be fixed, however im unsure if my males are fixed.. can i still make the bond work?
My 2 female Netherlands were spayed, the day after the spay one of them starting to chew the other rabbit's wound so we seperated them and had them in joining cages, just so she wouldn't try to open the wound of the other one. We'd have the out and about running around all fine but one day one rabbit jumped into the other rabbits cage and they had a fight. Since then we have had issues. We have essentially been re bonding them and for the past couple of weeks it has gone okay (the early days they kept having fights when out together)- just taking it slow now. But a few times one rabbit has jumped in the other's cage and a fight has happened again. There is part of me which is feeling like we are not going to be able to get them back to being friends that live together again.
@101rabbits I have two female rabbits, both around 8 months and both from the same litter. They used cuddle and spend all day together but one morning (we try to free roam them best we can) they had a large fight and completely unbonded. Since then we have moved and kept them in seperate hutches, taking turns letting them out. There is still alot of agression between them but thats through cage bars so im assuming that will be frustration more than anything. Due to lack of funds we are getting one of the girls spayed end of this month and are looking to get the other done mid next month. My concerns with rebonding is that they are immediately agressive under any contact with each other and in stressful enviroments (like vet runs in seperate carriers) they thump at each other whenever they see or smell eachother. We also don't have any neautrel territory as we have a 1 bed flat that they free roam. Have you got any additional tips in rebonding them as its heartbreaking keeping what used to be best freinds apart. Cheers.
@@rbasi25 hi, unfortunately we could never rebond them. Spoke to behaviourists and was pretty much told that they won't get along ever again, they are in a large dog pen each that are connected so still have the ability to see, sniff and groom eachother which does happen but the moment they are given unrestricted access to eachother it's immediate fighting. There's no stress from either of them about the situation and they do spend time together against the pen bars, laying together and occasional grooming but that's as far as it gets. Sad really but there's only so much I can do for them and they seem happy the way things are.
Great video really helps alot i am currently bonding my two bunnies simba and nala nala grooms him alot even been in the same carrier with no fighting simbas very good with her x
Hello, you say with the cement process they have to stay together for 2 nights, do they stay together throughout the day as well with the cement process? xx
is it okay that my female bunny who I’ve had for 1 year isn’t spayed? and we are getting a new female bunny bc my moms friend can’t keep it and we always wanted company for my 1 year old and I don’t think she is spayed either, so is that okay? Like I’ll go slow making them bond but is it dangerous if they both aren’t spayed?
Hi there. I was wondering if you could help us. We have 3 rabbits, after they bonded they've been living together in relative peace for 2 years. However, a couple of days ago there was a brawl, possibly becauce on of the buns got sick and was weaker. We took it to the vet for 10 hrs. After the bun came back, everybody started to fight. The buns that fight most are towo females, the third bun is a male. All are spayed & neutered. The most aggressive bun, the white female, ferociously marks terrain and attacks the (sick?) female. They can fight tooth and nail, but usually the sick female wants to back off and just let go, but the white female is relentless. Should we bond the buns in pairs, or let all three bond at the same time? The problem is, when all three are out, the white female even attacks the male who used to be on top of the hierarchy and served as a police officer! Now it is only us who can act as the police, but we're worried that one of the buns might get seriously wounded:(
Wow they are NOT KIDDING when they say there can be injuries during bonding. Be very careful and do have a dust pan and heavy duty leather gloves at the ready. Thankfully my two buns were separated by wire but the new unneutered bun still tried to get a chunk out of Benjamin, my neutered bunny. No worries though, he got a chunk out of my hand instead when I pulled him away. I don't care, it was way better than harming Benjamin. Can't wait to make that neutering appointment! I will certainly give the bonding attempt at least one month after BunBun's surgery. Just gave him a stuffed animal bunny to tear apart if he feels the need. Seems to like it, it's keeping him busy. ; )
go to rabbit . org for a bonding powerpoint check out lennon the bunny and howcast series on youtube for more rabbit information. check out r/rabbits on reddit
Great video- this gives a lot of helpful info! I was beginning to bond my rabbits several months ago, but stopped because I realized I needed to get Ducky fixed first. The first time I tried to get him fixed, our appointments kept getting messed up, and we had to drive to the vet's office about 3 times before it worked out, but when they sedated Ducky, his heart rate dropped so they were unable to operate. The suggested we bring him back in around a year, which is what I'm planning on doing. In the meantime, they live alone, but I'm looking forward to starting the process again. I have one question: when I was bonding them before, they grunted at each other a lot, which is pretty normal. Although, one of my rabbits, Sprinkles, started grunting at me, too. Every time I would feed him, or reach inside his cage he would grunt at me. He never did this before... Why did he start now? I don't want the bonding between the rabbits to ruin his bond with me- he's always been so sweet and affectionate, and it sort of worries me.
It's hard to say why he has all the sudden started. It could be because he learned it from your other rabbit, or he's afraid that every time you go by him you will bond them. Don't worry. Once they are bonded together they will probably love each other and you. Until then, make sure not to put your hands in his cage while he's in there. Ebony grunts at me all the time though. Some rabbits are just more sassy. Don't take it personally.
So, I’ve had my 2 rabbits for three years now. Both female and both lion heads. And they keep in bonding and unbonding. Recently I have put both of them in a different room and a different cage and one has gotten berry aggressive and territorial. This one has pretty much always be the aggressor. Do I still do this process or should I modify it because they already know each other?
Not all bonding is the same. Every rabbit has different personalities like humans so bonding depends on the rabbit(s). If your rabbits are very aggressive during the bonding period for a while, the bonding process but that doesn't always happen. Sometimes it is shorter even if your rabbits are aggressive. You never know. I hope this helped you a lot.
I agree. All bunnies are different and bonding them is like human dating. you get along better with soe over others. you can usually tell how long it's going to take from the first date. my bunnies were pretty aggressive and it took over a year to have them fully bonded.
I have two mini lop, male (fixed) and female (not fixed), they are 4 months each. I recently got another one, its a 1 month old dwarf. Should I wait till both lop are fixed?
I have two female rabbits one is really socialable and friendly other one a bit territorial and defensive, today I am stating bonding process as I want them to love together in same pen as currently in two different pens. Fingers crossed
I got a second bunny a few days ago but by bunny i have longer keeps starting fights and they chase like a fidget spinner and bote and pull fur. I have to literally pull one of them away and can't just simply put my hand inbetween. They are in a seperate pen and smell eachother but it's not going well my new bun is very cslm and relaxed though but I don't know what to do. I need to put the other one back in the other pen. They just keep attacking and I can't end it in a good situation..
I have two males bunnys neutered, the start fight after I neutered the youngest one... they cannot even see each other and fight. they used to have this bonding process where one jump another, and they was bonding, but after neutered the youngest I have to start the process all over again...when I try to put them together in a neutral zone they fight and I don't know what else to do, I don't want to get rid of one, I already try with fruit and food they like, and they fight anyway...my older bunny( the agressive one) start a treatment of bach flowers, and I hope it works because I'm desperate,
In the spring im getting two girl rabbits but i was planning on getting them from a rual king and as babies and they would all ready have been together so would I still need to do all this?
I have 2 bunny’s they need to get fixed but my one bunny bumbo keeps jumping out of his x pen into my bunny Theo’s area some times they Pluck out pieces of each others hair but today I came home and they were laying together on the ikea bed I have for Theo idk what to do they like each other I think but I don’t know if I want them together Bc there not fixed yet plz let me know what to do
I have a question. I have a 4 year old miniature lop eared bunny named Hazel that I have recently adopted from her previous owners. I have been looking into getting her spayed, but as I've looked farther into it, the older the rabbit is, the more risky it is to have the procedure done. I was wondering, it is to late to get her spayed? I know she's had one litter before, and she's litter trained but sometimes goes outside of her litter box (ErinsAnimals says that may be part of not being fixed, is that true?). I think it would benefit her to have the procedure done. Is it too late in her life?
sorry this reply is late but you could always talk to a vet about risk factors. Ive known bunnies over 4 years old who have been fixed but it all depends on several other factors including your bunnies health. Also, it depends how much she has been going outside. some bunnies miss their litter box, others leave territorial droppings. if she is frequently making piles outside her litterbox getting her fixed may help
Also another late reply sorry! Have you got the situation sorted now? If not, you are right, the older a rabbit gets the more risky it is to spay them. 4 isn't too old though, and you could consult your vet and ask what they think is best for your bun.
My rabbits have been toghetter in their room for a few Days and This evening one of the bunnys started mounting/humping the other.. what should I do? Last night they were lying up against each other and Leia kept kissing Alvin (the bunny who was mounting/humping). Is This a problem?
Ok so I got 3 bunny named Bugs Ceaser and Tobias(Tobi) and ceaser and bugs are twin brothers. Ceaser and Tobi was bonded but recently had a fight and Bugs hate Tobi. I feel the Tobi is the problem because he broke up Bugs and Ceaser’s relationship and Tobi is so annoying, He jumps out when we pick him up and he wiggles out because he needs a bigger cage but we can’t afford one right now so we put he in a Guinea pigs cage for now I don’t know what to do and there all hard to bond and I made a big mistake of getting Tobi when he isn’t neutered , I don’t have enough space to bond them and I don’t have enough money to buy an x-pen so I VERY lost
Däñg it’s Fushia you shouldn’t have got rabbits if you can’t afford it. If you cannot give a rabbit proper care then don’t get one! When bonding a trio, it’s normal for the two already bonded rabbits to fight each other as they are trying to show their dominance to Tobias. It’s normal.
I just adopted a female and already have a fixed male. We have the x-pens next to each other but they keep sniffing each other and then the female starts kicking and biting the x-pen. And I’m a bit worried that they aren’t gonna be a match..... can someone help me out? Edit: Im sitting next to their cage and they just sniffed each other but then moved on and didn’t wanna bite each other anymore
I have two Bunnies, My first Rabbit is a Netherland Dwarf He's 16-Months old and Neutered, My 2nd new bunny is a Holland Lop she's 8-Weeks old, I just got her last Tuesday a week ago, It only took (4) Days for My Netherland Dwarf to Except her, The best way too get them too bond is taking them for a Pet Stroller Rides outside, I didn't need to go through all of that like u did. your Rabbits are so Cute!!
What do you do when they really want to attack? Like biting and turning around eachother. One of the two really doesn't want anything of it and is thumping but the other is like charging! Do you think they will bond? (sorry for bad english).
Hi my rabbits are neutered and spayed and they were pretty much bonded already but I have catched them in a fight, why do they fight and hump if they been sharing for Over a month????
What if I have an an older rabbit and adapted a 10 week old?? I have 2 xl dog caged there in, I let one out in the morning and one at night so they smell each other. But I older fixed male is pooping around her cage, should I wait till she's older??
How do you end on a good note if they just had a fight and fur is everywhere? I separate them but don't want to put them together incase the fight starts again.
hey when I went to play with my bunny this morning I notices that he had like puss in his eye I looked it up and it said take them to the vet within 24 hours but my vet isnt open and we cant really afford it anyways have any advice or home remidies ?
This is perfect vid just what I was looking for. I’m getting another bunnie so I need to know how to bond hero and the bun bun. Thanks you this was the perfect vid!🤗
you can also go to rabbit . org for a bonding powerpoint check out lennon the bunny and howcast series on youtube for more rabbit information. check out r/rabbits on reddit
Hey Haley. I just got my second rabbit Casper 2 weeks ago. He has already been neutered. I already have a 3 year old spayed female. Casper is 6 months old. I have only started the pre bonding faze but my female is being very territorial. She has managed to escape the x pen a few times and get at Casper. I’m kinda terrified now that Coco is going to really hurt him. I’ve tried everything to keep her in her pen but she just keeps escaping. I’m 12 and my mom told me that if I am going to get bunnies they can’t leave my room so both are in x pens in my room. I’ve tried putting blankets on top of the pens to make sure Coco can’t jump over but she still jumped through the blanket. I don’t know what to do.
You should try to Bond Sterling with the others, one by one and in another space like your bed Where you Can sit with Them and comfort Them, i have 5 bonded Rabbits. You should use your hands to stop Them in stead as it comforts the bunnies you might get bitten, but it's okay if they get Bonded for it, it's really helpful to just sit with Them and cuddle. And move their cage really close so they Can interract with eachother, and please dont stress Bond them as it Can hurt then mentally and they Can get scared of you easly. As i Said i have 5 bonded bunnies and i did all This with then and it Worked really Well and the Best part is it took under a week for each bunny, BTW if you try This please make a video about it
Is it alright if I get two bunnies who are different breeds? (Example:Netherland Dwarf and French Lop) should I get two bunnies at once or should I buy one first and then introduce it to another one? I’m interested in getting a bunny and hopefully my parents will let me get one this year
Hi I was wondering is there a time when it's too late for bunnies to be fixed? My bunnies are both girls and 3 years old. I was also wondering if I can bond them since they are sisters and both girls? They have been fighting latey
My bun is a 3 month old male dwarf rabbit, since he’s not old enough to get neutered, would I have to wait til he is 6 months old to bond him with another bunny? Or can I just bond him with a bunny his age and neuter/spay them when they’re older? Someone pls answer I wanna get my bun a friend 🥺
I have two male rabbits and they were perfectly bonded till I got them neutered. Then, after we had them separated for 1 week because that's what the vet said to do and now they attack each other. It's been like this for months now and I've tried to bond them myself with no progress. I have there pens to next to each other and they sometimes groom each other, but anytime there together, they fight. I've been thinking to go get them bonded by a professional but I'm not sure. Does anyone have tips on what to do?
Hi I don’t know what to do as all my rabbits are boys an£ from my personal experience it hasn’t worked out as there were 2 brothers and I now have 1 rabbit that’s either 2 or 3 years old and 2 brothers that are 8 weeks old how do I know if they will not fight when fully bonded?edit: when my 2-3 year old was humping my new rabbit called blue was chasing each other in circles and Ralph my 2-3 year old got bit in the privates my mum doesn’t like taking rabbits and guinea pigs to vets as it is too expensive or whatever and h3 was bleeding but as soon as I put him is his age right after it’s stopped but it is bite hard I don’t want to continue after watching bonding until new rabbits are vaccinated and neurted is this the right thing to do?
The black one be like damn you not even gonna buy me dinner first
Ash Daly the black ones name is ebony the white and brown one is lulu and all brown one with ears/a lop is mocha which he passed away :( there is also a gray one named sterling and another black one named belle which she passed to :(
Lol I’m dying this is priceless
😂😂😂😂😂
Her name is ebony
My two buns bonded instantly. I am so lucky! Within two hours of meeting each other they were flopped out next each other and grooming.
Wow that’s what I’m hoping for
Mine did too! They were such lovies and one of them wasn’t fixed and they didn’t start fights or anything
Chara Ardrey good luck! When my dad moves out, we’re. Planning on bonding Winston!
WOAH that was amazing
were they fixed?
I just rescued a bunny on Monday. She's about a year old and was spade a month before I got her. When I brought her home she instantly took a liking to my yorkie (I knew the yorkie liked bunnies prior to getting one). I'm extremely happy that my dog can go into her pen and just hang out and the bunny doesn't mind her being in there. Today she even binkied around my dog and my dog was like freaking out trying to figure out what was going on lol. Just thought I'd share this :)
Don’t want to be mean, but you spelt ‘spayed’ wrong.
Wow...so lucky human ❤️😭
That is so adorable, thank you for this comment
That’s sick ;)
That's so cute
the black rabbit standing on its two feet just melts my heart, omg
Ebony
her name is Ebony
Hrabina Ebony is adorable 😔
Although she mentions it in the video it is VERY IMPORTANT to always have a towel, or clipboard at all stages of the bonding process. never go into a bonding session without something to physically seperate the bunnies unless you like having bloody arms. My bunnies love me but when they attack another rabbit the go into a blind rage and will bite you
Melon Katsu 2nd sub! Thanks for the tip, 👍🏽🌈
But also, very thick gloves, or does it not matter?
Melon Katsu I would recommend using a dust pan most people have it and it works wonders
Yeah with no hesitation they don’t want to hurt YOU it’s the other rabbit! It’s an instinct
Wish I knew that earlier 😃
Fab vid. Thanks. We are adopting a baby girl who is basically blind as she was born with cataracts. She will be bonded with our almost 2 year old boy, very slowly and gently and this gave me some very good tips. Much appreciated. =)
Be sure to neuter and spay trust me they will be so much calmer and little or (in my case) zero humping
So I'm so supposed to put them two together in a scary place so that they will HAVE TO comfort each other?
Otis the mini loop yup
that is one technique that seems to work the most. having the bunnies be a little scared help to stop aggressive behavior and help them realize "hey, its kind of nice to have a furry body snuggled up next to me."
Otis the mini loop I feel like the rspca have the best approach when it comes to bonding. Slow, calm and patient. It should take up to 6 weeks. Here is a link www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/pets/rabbits/company/bonding
Yes !! My step sister did that
no methods have changed since 3 yrs ago
When I first started to try to bond two of my girls they ignored each other for a long while, Im glad to know its a good thing, I was a bit worried they didn't like each other were much.
Did they start grooming each other?
You should probably mention that stress bonding is a last resort. There are plenty of ways to bond rabbits without creating stress ❤️
This was very helpful! I have a rabbit and have been wanting to find a friend to keep him company when I'm not around. I wouldn't have known any of this without this video, so thank you! :)
Why is mocha mounting Ebony so much? Aren't they both spayed and neutered?
In the video I explain that humping is very common in bonding. It is in no way a sexual thing, it is a dominance thing. Mocha is telling Ebony he is dominate. Completely normal and common in bonding
Oh okay. Thanks!
+101rabbits Since it is just a dominance thing, will a female do it to another female?
+Hamsters Minecraft And More Yes. In my bonded pair, the dominate female will sometimes still hump the other to remind her who is boss!
+Hamsters Minecraft And More I don't believe females can, only because (I believe) male rabbits do the mating, not the other way around. Don't quote me on that, because I'm not sure. :) Besides, male, not only in rabbits but other animals, prove to other males they're the 'top dog', if you know what I mean.
lol i loved the fact you used a dust pan😂😂 11:51
smart idea though...
Suggestions please on where to start the binding process when my existing bun is free roaming? His main living area is our loft upstairs. This is where he sleeps at night. He hasn't been in an xpen for a while.
Yay! I've been wanting someone to post this video but nobody would post one!
Thank you for the info!!! We will soon be bonding our male bunny with a female companion!! We're super excited!!
Best bonding video I've seen. Thank you so much!
We just got bunnies yesterday and they seem to be bonding fine! They’ve been cuddling and just hanging out together and it’s so cute
My two female rabbits aren’t spayed and have been successfully bonded, which I’m aware is very uncommon, however I’ll still be getting them spayed in December due to the other benefits:) I’m sad they’ll have to be kept apart for a while:(
I just started bonding today so this video came at a great time! Lots of good info and it answered a lot of questions I had on bonding.
WOW I never did any of this when I got my rabbits I just let them go in their cage and that night they were sleeping together
Mine too! They would attack a stuffed toy rabbit (which was so funny) but they never were agressive to each other
Oof lucky I'm getting a new rabbit this morning so my lionhead isn't lonely
Vanilla Fox I’m getting my second lionhead on Tuesday..I’m nervous about the bonding process but I don’t think my current rabbit will be aggressive toward the new one 🤞🏻
@@artisticVchan I got a second rabbit months ago and only next weeke d I am bonding them
@@artisticVchan it’s almost a year now how did it go?
My rabbits are both males but they came from the same litter and lived together for about 5 months before they started fighting. Im getting them neutered soon and after they healed i really want to bond them. Is it ok to bond 2 males that previously lived together?
Hannah Halverson I have the same problem :/
Yes! Make sure they can still smell and see each other
Bunny Lover You really know nothing, I've seen a few of your comments on here and it is clear you haven't got a clue. Gender doesn't matter when bonding, it comes down to the bunny's personality. Forcing homosexuality? 😅😅
Sarah Hollis I know right XD
How would you bond two paired sets?
When I first got my second rabbit I just put her right in her side of the run I had. She and my other rabbit immediately started fighting through the chicken wire barrier. My mom told me it was ok to let them fight, but it resulted in a nasty cut on my new rabbit's nose. For some reason after that they were fine with each other, and soon became best friends.
This is really helping me bond my rabbits, Misty and Henry. :)
i have a male who just got neutered. he will be 1 month of neutered in a week. my female is not spayed but i’m scared to get her spayed bc my other female didn’t make it after the surgery. how do i work with that?
I am currently working on a project for a TH-cam video that involves me informing people about the risks of buying rabbits during Easter. I currently don’t have a rabbit, but I would possibly love to use your rabbits in my video. I am asking permission and all credit will be given back to the owner. I would love if you could respond before Easter Sunday. Thank you so much!
RabbitEducation me
My 4months old pair suddenly start fighting and i don't know what to do 😭 i seperate them but i feel really bad seperating them
A lot of good tips here! Though I really wouldn't stress bond until as a last resort.
Looks like mocha found a girlfriend lol
Thanks for this helpful video!
We are in the pre-bonding period. Do you think I have to remove the territorial poop? (my 1st bunny lives free, and the new one in a crate)
If I have 2, and adding a third do you to this process all at once, or two times, each old bunny with the new one?
I think once with both
Thanks so much for the video! Super helpful. in your experience, how long does the bonding process take??
I would love to stress bond my rabbits. I’m lost though. my first time introducing my bunny to my new bunny, the one i’ve had for a while literally lost her cool. It wasn’t in a stressful environment so she wasn’t scared. But she immediately attacked my new bunny and pulled out a load of fur. I would want to put them in a carrier together in my car and drive, but i’m too scared i’m gonna leave the car with one bunny in the lightest of terms. someone please give me advice for this
try something other than the car technique, put them in a tub or small enclosure you have direct access to in case you will have to separate them.
Cayla Josephine ask someone else to drive and the cage is in ur lap
We adopted a female spayed bunny today as a friend for our male neutered bunny. They are currently in separate spaces.
When I put them together very briefly, the first thing that happened was the male chasing her to mount her. She wasn't fond of this. There was a lot of thumping. I ended the session fast because I was concerned for her. She is actually still healing from her spay surgery. I assume it would be better if we waited a little longer for her to be more healed first?
I was too helicopter mom during that... lol
Thank you so much for doing this video I have 2 more weeks till I start bonding!!
They seem to have fallen out of their bond so I’m hoping that these steps will help rekindle their love for each other :-)
One question I have is around neutral areas. We live in a small apartment in which they occupy half the living room. We don’t have any other areas that would function as a neutral area other then the bath tub. For the cementing process would it work to shrink down their normal enclosure and grow it from there?
This was really helpful, thank you 🙂
I have one 8 month old rabbit and I just got a 2 month old rabbit... the older one is aggressive and the young one does not want any conflict and just runs away.
We don't have a shelter for rabbits.. Only a pet shop so I can't do bunny dating
Hamilton Fan there may be some small rescues near you that will let you bunny date, or even a local breeder.
Try to find a place nearby. There are a lot of homeless rabbits, and even saving one is awesome! :-) a
Izzy Just search it up. I searched up “rabbit shelters” along with the name of the state that I live in and stuff and I got some good results

but what if i dont have the money to fix my 2 males? the female im lookin to get will be fixed, however im unsure if my males are fixed.. can i still make the bond work?
Cheers.
Hi are there any updates? I would love to Get an update.🐰🐰🐰🐰
Now it is only us who can act as the police, but we're worried that one of the buns might get seriously wounded:(
My bunny roams around my room, how could I clean the room to get rid of my rabbits scent?
Seems to like it, it's keeping him busy. ; )

Ahh, I see! Thanks for the reply!(:
So, I’ve had my 2 rabbits for three years now. Both female and both lion heads. And they keep in bonding and unbonding. Recently I have put both of them in a different room and a different cage and one has gotten berry aggressive and territorial. This one has pretty much always be the aggressor. Do I still do this process or should I modify it because they already know each other?
mounting is a common bonding behavior
How long did your bonding take?
I have two males bunnys neutered, the start fight after I neutered the youngest one... they cannot even see each other and fight. they used to have this bonding process where one jump another, and they was bonding, but after neutered the youngest I have to start the process all over again...when I try to put them together in a neutral zone they fight and I don't know what else to do, I don't want to get rid of one, I already try with fruit and food they like, and they fight anyway...my older bunny( the agressive one) start a treatment of bach flowers, and I hope it works because I'm desperate,
Thank you it helps ur tips and suggestion. I'm a bunny mom for about 4 yrs now sometimes its hard to read their mind and the way they act.
In the spring im getting two girl rabbits but i was planning on getting them from a rual king and as babies and they would all ready have been together so would I still need to do all this?
My male rabbit is fixed and weve waited a month but when we get the new bunny she isnt old enough to be fixed will that cause a problem?

Ok I you reacent vids mochi isn't there and sterling is there but not in this vid what happend to mochi ?

I’m interested in getting a bunny and hopefully my parents will let me get one this year
I have three baby rabbits. when I got them they were like 1 month old and they bonded really well.
*1 Month not one week
Try waiting a month
