It is difficult to describe to people these days how much of a sensation Torvill and Dean were in Australia in 1984. It was real superstar status.

I remember being so upset that they spent so much time in Australia back then and couldn’t see them at home here in the UK. Back then we never even got to see interviews with them or what they were doing so it felt like they’d disappeared off the face of the earth at the peak of their success
