    Thanks for making the video. Straight to the point, no ten minute intro filled with garbage. Good views with clear explanation!

    You have a great narration voice. I thought I was listening to a NASA commentary.

    Great video, thanks for pulling this together. My only suggestion is to not bother disconnecting the two electrical connectors on the carb. If you do everything up to that point, you can easily get to the jet to remove and replace it.

    Why is my carburetor leaking gas after the 3rd use?

      My apologies for the delayed response. Did you install the high altitude carburetor kit? If so, sometimes the O-ring gasket can get pinched and that could cause the carburetor to leak. Thanks, and hope you have a wonderful day!

    Is their a wire that doesn’t connect to anything?

    In the description you mentioned that the jet kit was for elevations between two and 7000 feet. I live above 7000 feet and often will use a generator between 8000 and 9000 feet. Is there a jet for higher elevations as well?

      Chad, my apologies for our delayed response. You will want to utilize Jet D. That will cover you from 6,000' above sea level and up. Thanks, and hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    Just bought one and it just surges, will not idle.revving up and down unless i put a full load with my air conditioner turned on in the trailer, im just above 2000ft elevation in Alberta. Is it a jetting problem?

    • @rockymountaingeneratorsupp1543
      @rockymountaingeneratorsupp1543  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Likely not a jetting issue. If you just purchased it, I would recommend that you get it to a Cummins distributor location and have it looked at under warranty. Thanks, and hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    I'll be using my unit between 5,400 and 8,000 feet. Which jet would you recommend?

    • @rockymountaingeneratorsupp1543
      @rockymountaingeneratorsupp1543  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would recommend Jet C. 5,000-6,000 Feet. This way you are pretty much in the average elevation with your Jet choice. Thanks!

    What does the phillips head adjustment on top of the carb do? Idle set? A/F mixture?

    • @rockymountaingeneratorsupp1543
      @rockymountaingeneratorsupp1543  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, I do not currently have an answer for you. I have submitted to the factory and will respond back. Thanks!

      @@rockymountaingeneratorsupp1543 Roger that. I believe it to be an A/F mixture, but would love the real scoop or how it supposed to be set. My 4500 has a very erratic idle and some occasional misfires at full song as well.

      @@707LDH I just received confirmation back from Cummins; the black, plastic, Phillips head screw on the top of the carburetor is the idle adjustment screw. Please let me know if you need anything additional and thanks for contacting Rocky Mountain Generator Supply!

      @@rockymountaingeneratorsupp1543 That is pretty vague. Does it adjust Fuel or Air?

      @rockymountaingeneratorsupp1543  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@707LDH I copied your reply and sent to Cummins for further details. The following is what I received back from them. I'm hopeful that this makes the answer a little less vague.
      The pilot jet is tied to the idle. It controls the fuel going into the carburetor during startup.
      The idle adjustment screw adjusts the fuel flow that is allowed through the pilot jet on startup.

    What jet came from factory?

    • @rockymountaingeneratorsupp1543
      @rockymountaingeneratorsupp1543  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The jet that comes from the factory with the generator is good to 2,000 above sea level. Beyond that; the manufacture recommends the high altitude carburetor kit. We offer them for $29.00 with free shipping and sales taxes would apply. Thanks, and hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend@

    Do Not follow this video! The connector mentioned at 2:37 is impossible to get to if you don't have the hand size of a child. You can just pull the carb bowl off with a 10 mm wrench and then unscrew the jet with a flat head. "The second connector is a little tricky" is the understatement of a lifetime....

      👆 This! Pull the air cleaner box out and you can remove the carb bowl. Super simple. I just received my 4500, and swapped the jet out.

      What size is the main jet? Is it possible to just replace the jet instead of buying the complete jet?

      Hi. I'm trying this right now. I have the bowl off but how do you access the jet with a flat head? There isn't enough space to get a screwdriver in there.

      @@mikeetienne1685 You have to remove the air cleaner box for more clearance. A few screws holds it in.
