There's a Chinese saying: "Up there, there's heaven; down here, there's Suzhou and Hangzhou." It really is a beautiful and historic city (and a capital city for about 150 years!)

my hometown... one of the few cities in China that retained it's culture. Cars will actually stop for you at pedestrian crossing... a rarity in developing Asia.

I travelled to China in 2014, stopped off in Hangzhou and watched the Impression of West Lake show. It's a beautiful memory that will last a lifetime. I'm so glad you got to check out the beautiful city, Karlie. Xx

It is even not thought by most Chinese to be a megacity. Being in such a huge country and population, Chinese people have different definition of mega for lots of things. But no dispute in the view that Hangzhou is one of the most beautiful Chinese cities.

Hangzhou is so beautiful, I made a stop there for about 24 hours as well, this summer. So it's really engaging to see such familiar locations appear in your video, brings back wonderful memories. It was actually my first time back to China in 10 years! Although brief, having the opportunity to visit a city with such significance to my dad was truly special. I'm from central China . I started working in Hangzhou and after graduated from university. Then i married a local girl settled down in Hangzhou .This is one of the best cities in China with ancient and modern combined . When you feel in chaos in the metropolitan city，You would soon feel calmed in the magnificent scenes in 10 minutes traffic
OMG THE MANGOSTEENS BEHIND YOU at the fruit market are literally the best fruit! Like a cross between a nectarine and mango... it's so good.

Glad to see you Vlogging again. Great video and good to see you showing a different view from what the Media outlets dump out there. I watch Serpentza channel who lives in China and has toured it on motorcycle and explores various aspects of living there. Nice to see your take on a tour of these enjoyable aspects of china. The culture has survived thousands of years and seems to do a good job of keeping a diverse population propering in their own way.

Serpentza's videos are so purely focused on talking negatively about China it is almost one dimensional. Not a fan. I believe every country has it's good and ugly. It's so funny that he apparently finds China so horrible yet he is still living there till this day.
I can’t say how suitable the background music for this video it is,really fits in the hangzhou (as we call it Jiang’Nan area). The rainy days in hangzhou really has a totally unique atmosphere.

Right season and right weather in Hangzhou, which perfectly show its beauty.
Ikr missing a train or exam is not a big deal .we can give the exam again and travel on train again .but we live life only once and life is very precious especially human life. if we try to go fast to catch a train or something else .something really bad can happen which can cost us our life . So cherish every moment and learn from mistakes.
BTW being human is a gift in itself.

Hangzhou is a very nice city, a very wealthy city, and only about 2 hours from Shanghai (using the high speed train).

Hey Karlie, the next time you're in China, you need to visit the southwestern city of Chongqing. It has the most amazing light show, even better than that of Hong Kong. You get a real essence of China there.

Nice, happy you enjoyed it.The traditional part of the city is totally astonishing, but remaining part is still grey and gloomy. I have been living in Hangzhou for almost 4 years now and the way how polluted it`s got for the past years is unbelievable. Funny thing is that every time any national holiday approaches, the air becomes magically clean for that exact period of holiday as if to just show travelers from across the country that there still is that pure natural paradise... Also they have started some huge construction projects around the city cause of the Asian games in 2022, which made the whole city overlook much uglier...
