- Reliability and Validity are concepts used to evaluate the quality of research. They indicate how well a method, technique or test measures something.
Reliability is about the consistency of a measure. Cronbach’s α and Composite Reliability (CR) are the two main measures of reliability.
Validity is about the accuracy of a measure. Convergent Validity (measures of the same constructs) and Discriminant Validity (measures of the distinct constructs) are measured by Average Variance Extracted (AVE).
What is the next step if we see that convergent validity is not valid? (less than 0.50) 1) Do we delete? 2) Or do we report it? 3) How do we explain this in the APA format?
