Thank you all so much for the love and support guys! Mega appreciated. I case anyone didn’t see my video on this EP. It’s basically a result of multiple requests to compile the songs I’ve written for my gear demos. These are demos and as such I used my electric kit and superior drummer to play in the drums. I used Darkglass Electronics pedals for Bass, and I used a combination of guitar gear. All recorded with my TwoNotes Torpedo Studio and Universal Audio Apollo 8p It has to be said that the mixdown was pretty fast too, as I said these are demos, and I do plan to do a proper solo EP of songs and sounds. Although this is technically a solo record, it’s not the one I had in mind and personally I want to show you all what I can do with that goal in mind! In any case, I love you all, thanks for listening, purchasing this and supporting me! 👊❤️🙌🙏
Gotta hand it to ya Rabea, you’re a monster player and this ep is fantastic. Definitely one of my biggest inspirations in my own playing and a guitar hero of mine
Thank you Rabea for sharing your talent and personality with us, trough this awsome music! It makes me glad, and help to form my taste of music more colorful. I appreciate a lot!!!
You probably have no idea, but you're such a MASSIVE influence to a lot of your fans who are guitarists themselves; it's unreal. I'm not lucky enough to speak to you in person, so i'll just say whatever here. This ain't news to you, but you're a revolutionary guitarist; I don't particularly know what your influences are but the way you play is so new and refreshing. You bring the conventionality to the unconventional; your riffage is outta this world and your chord choices shouldn't work but somehow they do, it's like you know the secret to the most insane chord progressions lmaoooo not to mention your shredding is way too godly to comprehend, and then there's your ambient clean stuff, straight from the heart, and i'm sure lots of others will agree with me that it touches us too. My fangirling is kinda intensifying so i'll stop here, but I consider you among the greats, even though you may yourself not consider yourself so highly, you seem like such a humble man. You've heard this thousands of times, but please keep doing what you do, it's absoluetely mind-blowing and you're a legend mate. Also, while I'm at it, I'm starving for new Toska material pls feed me and the rest of us :))) We all love you loads Rabea
Straight from the heart indeed, so glad there are other folks out there that feel the same. After almost a decade of collecting dust this EP made me pick up my guitar again :)
So I'm killing time on TH-cam and come across some guy named Leo Moracchioli. BOOM! I'm blown away and spent the next hour listening to his music. I'm thinking great find, then I come across Rabea Massaad and I just can't believe the talent on this guy. I had my whole office listening to Grinding Gears and it's just fantastic. Reminds me of old school Joe Satriani mixed with a little Dream Theater. Subscribe guys because this kind of talent doesn't come around too often.
I'm glad you uploaded it here so I can comment on it. I usually get VERY TIRED VERY FAST with this style of music... Kind of progressive instrumental metal it's not my type, but I gave it a try because I know amazing you are at playing guitar. I was SHOCKED to find how much I love this. I can't stop listening to it. I believe it has to do with the lenght of the songs. When guitar instrumentals get lenghty I check out, but here, the songs are just the perfect lenght to convey every idea, I'm really in awe with how good the songwriting is. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do, but I'm really really glad there are guitar players as good at both playing and creating songs.
Bea is a Beast!....One of the most creative versatile Guitarist period. Glad him and Leo hooked up. They compliment each other so well. Gotta have more.
Best tone in the game. The clarity is immense. Your work has changed the way I play, the gear I use and my direction with music. Thanks for what you do!
Man, been listening to this a lot. It's absolutely boss. The amount of little variations and moves in each piece is MAD! Also massively pushed me to finally invest in a Two Notes Studio & Superior 3! Can't wait!
Dude, it's incredible how your music/riff writing makes me want to pick up my guitar and leave it on the wall for dust to permanently settle on at the same time. I can imagine companies are lining up for you to demo their gear. Awesome tunes and playing as always.
I've been lusting after Siggy Pop since the video of you playing your signature baritone came out. Such an epic song. I've been learning it on my bari jazzmaster, so wonderfully dynamic. Thanks for being such an amazing influence! I'm sad I missed your performance at NAMM, I'll have to catch it next year. Can't wait!
Rebea, If I may be so bold to use your first name, I found your TH-cam channel & discovered the release of "Grinding Gears". It blew me away! It wasn't guitar masterbation it was bold & heedful of the structure of each song. It was a joy to listen to. I've been listening to metal since 1980 & it's rare for me to hear something new from an artist I'm not familiar with & love it of the bat! I've already downloaded it from Apple Music & have listened to it straight through, twice. Well done! I'll keep an ear out for future releases. Again, thank you! Something fresh was just what I needed!
Only now really discovering your solo stuff after watching your videos for a while. I'm hearing Mastodon vibes mixed with Djent phrases, classic rock and your own spin on heavy. Highly impressive stuff man. So impressed I picked up a Chapman Baritone. Thanks for the inspiration.
Many of us will remember this moment of discovery. Thank you to all involved as well as Captain and Chappers who brought this immense talent his initial visibility.
I get tired of instrumental music pretty fast, but this masterpiece has been playing almost non-stop for 3 weeks now. Keep up the good work, Rabea! Also, setting 20:18 as a reminder. That part's heavy.
DUDE! This is soooo gawdamn good!! I've not heard such an enjoyable instrumental collection like this, since passion and warfare.. or Plaid (Blues Saraceno). Seriously. I LOVE this EP. It will be in regular rotation. More please.
The heavy driving metal interspersed with epic hooks that touch gentle jocularity-infused positive-emotion inducing rifts, then back to heavy driving metal, all in a unique sequence I can tell is simply flowing through you, Rabea, as you enjoy the sheer bliss of your creation process. The whole vibe is a great one I want more of. Thank for doing what you love and sharing it with us, Bro. Much love.
I recently went down the TH-cam metal musicians rabbit hole (you, Rob Scallon, Jared Dines, Pete Cotrell, etc), and I stumbled on to this on Spotify a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I've had it on repeat. I absolutely love your sound and your style, and I'm looking forward to the next EP!
Dude hell yeah!!! Been waiting for that Horizon song for a while, played the demo about a million times! Great EP: amazing tones, original approach to riff and song writing... Love it.
Thank you for this and thank you for putting it out for free. Haven't heard something THIS good in a long while. The variety of styles and genres amazes me. Much love ♥
@Rabea Massaad - in the few short months that I have come to know you and your amazing creations through TH-cam and other media, you have quickly become my all-time favorite instrumentalist and also my #1 source of inspiration as a complete novice instrumentalist myself. Please, keep churning out this amazing music and please, for the love of all that is sacred, release FbtS soon! We can’t wait!
Thank you all so much for the love and support guys! Mega appreciated.

Awesome work! Your playing can do no wrong to my ears
I can hear a bit of Flying in a Blue Dream in that first track. Great play Bea. You are musical maestro. Fly far.
Gotta hand it to ya Rabea, you’re a monster player and this ep is fantastic. Definitely one of my biggest inspirations in my own playing and a guitar hero of mine
