Yes Charles dominated round 2 and 3 but Damn he got hit some serious blows in round1. I don’t think many men are capable to endure so many clean blows from someone like Dustin. Man’s a complete fighter.
In a sense I’m happy it went that way rather than a three round domination. Charles showed that he’s able to stand with the best, and even when he got dropped he was never broken and got back into the fight. He’s a special man.

I got insulted when everyone talked about Dusty saying he's taking Charles to deep waters. You can't use a Ju Jitsu type term against a guy who can really drown you.
Olivera and Khabib would've been a fun stylistic matchup given how much of a submission threat both men are. Both Charles and Dustin are great role models of the sport, giving back to their communities, never forgetting their roots.
I'm a purple belt bjj. I believe Khabib would win on the ground, because Charles works in open and fluid guard and transitions. Insted, Khabib is a guy to set the position and work ground and pound. They are very different on the ground.

Advanced in grappling & super sharp in technique. As a Poirier fan, he was mostly relying on power & brawling but in the long run, he just played into Do Bronx game & it led into his downfall. He was also tired heavily breathing

*Anyone who thought Dustin had a comfortable win, knows nothing about MMA! Stylistically, this was Oliveira’s fight to lose.* Dustin does not have the style to beat Oliveira, on the ground or on the feet. Poirier’s forward movement is very poor, unlike Chandler who can explode forward and get on the inside. Dustin needed to make this a Thai-style fight, chip the legs, and then explode forward with his left hand, step forward switch-stance, and overhand right combo.
Oliveira never takes his head off the centre line, and he could have comfortably chipped away at Dustin’s legs, and taken less damage, but he chose to go for the knees and clinch. Dustin did the right thing, in staying on his back in round 2. If he tried to escape, he would have presented his neck, and would have been submitted in round 2.
Tony didn't get to this point bc everyone duck him at his greatest times, and as he got older they made him fight all these new rising young cats that definitely were gunna beat him at his age
