Welcome to the North Chester Orchard, a working apple orchard, Christmas Tree farm, and acres of pumpkin patch, owned and operated by the same owners since its inception in 1989. This setting on 70+- groomed acres, with a meticulously maintained historic New England Farmhouse, is something you would see in a Hallmark movie. The agricultural land and woodlands of this property are the perfect example of good stewardship and its obvious the labor of love that has gone into the property over the last 33 years. Once you see this property, you will understand why people travel from all over this part of Maine to pick their own apples, pick a pumpkin and return weeks later for a beautiful Christmas Tree.

What a beautiful well kept farm. You can tell a lot of love for the farm, nature, family activities that they provide year round. I hope someone buys it and puts as much love and care as the present owners have done for years. I am sure it will be hard for them to leave but I wish them well. Wish I was young, I would snatch it up in a heartbeat.

Getting back to the top took awhile though😊 My dad grew up on this farm, along with his aunts and uncles. I am a farmer.. it's wild how expensive a property is these days.. how are we going to be able to keep a farm like this going if you have to be rich to be able to farm? Even with a hefty down payment and incredible credit my partner and I cant even buy land. I have the work ethic to be able to run a successful farm and have been for the last 10 years. We have been looking in Maine for years. I managed a farm there and started a farm on rented land in Blue Hill and did really well. Still on the look out. We are interested in this but just cant afford it. Sad. We are looking for land with woods and open field to build a house at this point since we can afford something like this. Will be extremely sad to see this land land into the wrong hands..

That is soooo British! California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia we don't really have that much British influence in California. It is absolutely interesting to see and hear parts of the east coast, Its almost as if when your there you don't notice the difference any more. The apples around California really need more hours of cold so the cold must make for more rested better flavored apples. Its a beautiful knowing that fruit and nut bearing trees need 500, 700 and 1000 hours of cold to vernaliz. Also interesting experience to know how British the east coast is, Bangor is India. Such an amazing process of understanding that the east coast and west coast are connected. Kingsman Arizona for example is obvious so much of the founding of landmarks were British.

I’m in a trance just imagining myself owning this beautiful farm.
I’d like to know more about the business side and it’s potential income if possible. I will telephone you for further information. It’s truly beautiful and the irrigation system takes a lot of the guessing out of the potential variations in crop yield. With room for explanation I’m really excited to arrange a visit. I’m hoping that there’s somewhere to stay nearby as this can’t be done in a day or two to fully understand the business as it currently stands and any additional facilities that would be juxtaposed to the existing property.

I see a business that has been managed by the owners to the best of their abilities. The potential for further development cannot be ignored. If then the price is too high it’s time to negotiate with all the information available.
It’s easy to say it’s too expensive but have you done your due diligence and further analysis for expansion?
There’s no doubt that properties are going down in value all over the country but this is not just a home and some land.

Those are the smallest Apple trees I've ever seen , aren't they supposed to be at least twenty feet tall ? This is a beautiful property , but this is obviously a newer indevour , is this a good thing or bad?

Walt. You are looking at dwarf and semi dwarf trees that have been carefully pruned so the majority of the apples can be picked without using a ladder. With all do respect you are incorrect in your assessment.

Dear Sr Simonson, we use to have very tall apple and pear trees back in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s in our orchard back in northern Italy. In the early 90’s, as we began to replace the trees because of age and decreased productivity, our agronomist suggested we take a look at this newly developed dwarf trees that actually yielded 40% more and required less work and safer conditions while harvesting. Actually amazing and a game changer that reduced costs. We no longer have pear trees, only Golden Delicious. Very nice place you show in Maine. Love the videos.

Such a shame that none of their children (or other family members) are interested in keeping and working the farm. I guarantee that they'll regret it one day.
    **Please don't sell to builders!!!
In my opinion, Macs make the best pies, cakes, breads, etc.

This farm has a ton of potential for further investment and hard work to bring it back into operation. I was able to glean certain information from the realtor who was involved in this property and I had the funds to do so. Unfortunately I was told initially that I could speak with the owners and ask them some questions about their current business and plans to move. I never received the information I was promised and being in the United Kingdom I was dependent on the realtor to help. I called several times and spoke with two agents who supposedly worked together. The attitude changed immediately and I was denied the number to call the owners or have any further information about the farm or the wetlands and the water system etc. The moving time in April was perfect for us.
They had an offer but it was less than the asking price and we were willing to pay more. I needed the time to organise a flight from the United Kingdom as I am finally returning home but I was simply cut off and unable to get the information I needed to proceed with the purchase.
It’s all very well watching a TH-cam video but I needed to see more which I was assured would be no problem.
I believe that the Realator did not act in the best interests of their clients and now I have trust issues with this company. They just want their commission and as quickly as possible. I do hope that the sellers will have the opportunity to read this and know that they have bad representation and could have sold their property for more. Be careful when buying anything online especially with this company. I’m very let down.

Hi Lorrie, The farm did not need hard work to bring it back into operation per your comment above. It was a meticulous property inside and out. We had a lot of interest in the property and multiple offers. The seller was made aware of your interest in the property but decided to prioritize buyers that had already been to the farm to physically view it. I sent you a detailed property information package on November 21st and more information on November 23rd. I emailed you further information on December 20th and responded to your request to call the owners, which I told you the owners of the farm, Allen and Jane have hired me to handle the sale and to answer any potential buyer's questions on their behalf. Please email me any questions you would like to ask Allen and Jane and I will be happy to answer them.
I am sorry you were not able to organize a flight from the U.K. in the 70 days the home was on the market.
