Yes great seeing you guys...thanks on the podcast. I almost stayed in the woodyard to watch the storm pass, but when the siren went off I headed in...lol
We're getting those T-storms later today in Maryland. Moving equipment around: Originally I had one way in, dead end. It was not the best. Had to back the dump trailer into the woods. So, a circular path was created around the wood-yard perimeter, enough for the truck and dump trailer to make it in, and all the way around, to exit. No backing up. Same for tractor towed equipment, splitter, trailer, etc. Take it around the circle and place where needed, again, no backing up. If the log splitter needs to face the opposite direction, just pull it and go around the circle the opposite direction. All cutting splitting operations happen inside the perimeter path, with the exception of wood being dumped and stacked, sometimes, outside, lining the perimeter. Also pallets outside the perimeter, drive the tractor around, fork some pallets, go around the circle, and place where needed. I can bring logs and longer pieces in on the dump trailer, dump it for processing, and drive right out. It's been working well. If loading the dump trailer from a stacked dried pile along the perimeter, pull in, park, usually use front loader but wood can be tossed into the trailer straight off of the pile. Maybe I need some woodchucks to chuck it in there. It looks like you can pull off the circle strategy at your place. Stay dry!
Dan, If you can, make a camera lens that truly shows the steepness of a hill, grade, and slope. I believe you could retire comfortably! Cameras today just never do justice...🤠 Hopefully, the new setup works well with your plans! Now get in the basement!! 🌪
Ha...yeah tough to see on camera. I think I'm gonna need something under the log lift for the Japa. After looking at it, it is running a bit uphill to feed the log in. Don't think that's gonna work very well...haha
The rain/storms this week have been pretty unreal, at least no major damage like other areas. I was in no mood to mow lawn tonight, but supposed to rain all day again tomorrow. Oh well, no biggie. Thanks for the oak and cherry exclusive bundles for smoking the other week.
@@Back40Firewood I've used 1/2 a bag of cherry wood so far. Will be using more this weekend. I can already see I'll be reaching out again next month for more of your top notch smoking wood. :)
Hi Dan: Good job moving things around. Your getting tornadoes and out in Montana we’re getting snow- 8 inches overnight and still snowing hard. As far as the Woodchuck- I would get rid of it. If you have one, you will have many more.
Dan, Looks like it's going to get Kinda Bad out there. Nice Move with the Jappa Firewood Processor. Plenty of Space for Rick to Drop off your Wood when he comes there. Great PodCast with you and Joe yesterday. Hope to be able to Join in on Friday Night Live, As I now have a Bacterial Infection, and Lyme. Be in touch my Friend, stay Safe out there and have a Great Memorial Day Weekend. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.
My step mom is up your way visiting her sister. She said things got sporty east of Wausau the other night. Keep an eye on the sky the next few days as well. Sunday has Ryan Hall's (YT weather guy) spider senses tingling.
Yeah it as a long line of storms that moved across the whole state up here...small tornado touched down not far from the farm. All is good though, parents just lost power for most of the night through next morning.
Hi Dan I Tell you What you have the Best Job around the House I know you Don't just Get Things it takes a lot of Hard Work to Get Some Excellent Equipment like The 37 D and The Japa I like That Shoot on The Japa Find That other Wood Chuck Firewood is Not The Only thing They like to Chew on it's your Wires on All your Equipment They Chew on it 🤣 like Bubble Gum 🤣‼️
We had severe weather here in Ohio last night. There was one lightning strike that was so close I'm still looking for the damage to determine where it hit. Bill
I can relate Brandon. I grew up in upstate NY in dairy farm country. At 10 years old I was out shooting woodchucks with my .22. The dairy farmers didn’t like their holes in the pasture and were glad to have them hunted.
Once the young have started coming out...the live trap will be set. Just don't wanna take the mom away from the young before they can go about on their own...lol...guess the deer have made me soft..haha
I relocate woodchucks too. I insure it’s a one-way trip. 😂
The Log Ox family would be proud, Dan!! Great timing on getting indoors before the storm!
Thanks Obie....that tool is handy as all get up! A back saver for sure!
hi there good show . raining here last night and today , best to all john
I sure hope this rain/storm pattern isn't gonna be all summer like it has been the past few weeks.
Good morning Dan, great seeing you again at Joe’s! Great Podcast, Stay dry my friend! Ps we work in the rain😂👍🏼🪵🇺🇸

Dan,another great 👍 video 😮😊❤
Put a 5 minute road flare in the hole, helps to get rid of groundhog. Don't want to step in hole and break a leg.

PS Dan I Listened to your Podcast Last night with Joe from Ohio Wood burner that was excellent 👍
When towing a trailer a simple rule I was told is, use the top of the steering wheel for forward and the bottom of the steering wheel for backing up.

Yeah these downpours of rain every other day can stop anytime...now tomorrow again...lol. Have ya had a chance to use any of the wood? How was it?

Very nice movin and doesnt it feel great to get all your chores done b4 the weather hits!!!
Yeah I wasn't sure I'd finish moving the Japa but just in time...lol

Amanda just showed me something from social media about it snowing in Montana....crazy!
I hear you on the weather as well. It's just cold enough here in Seattle I need sweat shirts in the morning.
Well don't send the cold this way...I shut the boiler down! Hahaha

Lots of weather events the past few weeks...hope things calm down for awhile.
Cool!
QQQ Dan Are you going to Tarp Those Piles to keep the Rain Off Them 👍
I think if anything I might tarp the tops in the winter. I might put the big plywood sheet on if I can make it work.
QQQ Dan Now That you have a Wednesday night Podcast Are you Still going to be Live Streaming on Friday Night live Chat 👍
@@tonywoods3197 yep no change for Friday night live. The podcast is just audio recording released on Wednesday mornings.
Having been a farmer, your stance on woodchucks is surprising. Hope you or LBM don't fall in the hole and break a leg. Time for dose of lead.

@@oldguyfirewood welcome to come back upstate and get a few more. Try anyway. Not dairy country, but a dairy. Near TCs outdoors
Dan, you are a better man or at least a more tolerant man than me. I don’t give those ‘chucks any free passes. 😉
Once I confirm the young can make it on their own the live trap will be out...lol
We do not like tornado sirens! 🤐🤐🤐
Nor do we up here. One hit down near my parents, but everyone was safe and no damage to the farm.
🎉
It can quit raining for a while now.Cant get anything done down my way.
No kidding...we've had like every other day, and then over an inch each time.
