      Do you palm mute after playing each note, or each last note on a string?

    • @larryfisherman4199
      @larryfisherman4199 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      mute thicker strings than the one you are playing with palm

    Just in case, you should know these fingering exercises and make sure that you can play them really clean! Can you play?

      Thanks bro I lost the right pinky I am from Appalachia "Bluegrass Land" I have had to relearn not proping my pinky I think it's a bad habit anyway but it did free up my hand . I'm not as fast but it's opening my mind to Blues , Jazz and improvisational lead playing . I had a Martin was a hardcore acoustic guy . Though I was lucky I taught and was forcred by teaching to learn electric .

Actually i am stuck at learning the major scales, I’m not sure if you meant to learn the entire fretboard using the major scales or to only learn how to play the C, F and G major scales including the triads, would you please elaborate? Thank you for replying!

    Tomo, thank you. Most people teach to pick near the bridge. I play like you do. But teachers insist on the bridge way. I just don’t like the sound closer to the bridge. Too bright. Also it’s easier for me to get wider dynamics range and snappier attack because string have more give closer to the neck. The only noticeable downside - speed and in some cases muddiness.

    • @TomoFujitaMusic
      @TomoFujitaMusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @PhillipNeal
      @PhillipNeal 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was a teacher for years theory and such and I never taught to pick near the bridge... But... If u crosspick the way George shuffler played ... It sounds a little like a bridge

    • @Ayo.Ajisafe
      @Ayo.Ajisafe 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can imagine it's probably level 50 for those Berkley students you can't even get in that school if your not rich or your close to being a virtuoso in your instrument I bet and of course sight reading you better have that down but that's OK a lot of greats didn't go to prestigious music schools ether
