Everything that had happened throughout the entire ordeal allowed them to let their defenses down and gave them an opportunity to truly reconnect on a really deep and profound level. They got to talk about meaningful personal stuff regarding their relationship. They both acknowledged they made mistakes. But they also realized that when they were together they were great because they knew each other extremely well.
