This is the same way all strato 2 stroke engines work, including the ones made by Stihl. I also don't understand the point of comparing it with the Stihl 4-mix engine to prove the part # difference, instead of the equivalent 2-mix.
A Stihl 4- mix does not need oil changes, it uses mixed fuel like a 2 cycle (hence the name 4- mix) and doesn’t have an oil sump. If you’re going to make comparisons to a competing product, at least do your homework and know what you’re talking about. Obviously, this is put together by corporate idiots that have no idea of the workings of any engine.

It "leaks" clean air in front of the transfer ports, so it's clean air 1st then a/f mixture. :)
