Fantastic channel. I love how clear you are when explaining what newbies and experts alike will need in order to be successful. Thanks a million! Howdy fro East Texas!
@ Quick question. Are you familiar with Andrew from the YT channel Adventure Gold? I noticed the channel is now gone. Is Andrew still around, or did he lose his battle with cancer? Thanks
I know of him and watched his videos as well. From what I have heard, he elected to close the channel down but the reasons are unclear. Maybe for privacy. I’m not sure.
@ Thank you so much. I know he was being treated but then got disillusioned with results. I sure hope he was able to win such a tough battle. Thanks again!
Awesome video Jason, your channel got me into fossicking and now I spend all my long weekends at oberon looking for sapphires and gold. Glad to see you are teaching both new and existing subscibers your tips and tricks!
Great overview of the location and required basic necessities, Jason. Wishing you and the channel a great year in 2025, of peace and prosperity, our state's motto. Great gift from Vic, the bucket classifier will prove a great aid to quicken the processing, best of luck! Cheers from Gabi of Narre Warren, Victoria.
@@InSearchOf...Australia We are loving the Central Coast Jason. I have just acquired a Minecraft Equinox 800 and will start fossicking at the beach lol!
Hi Jason-any chance you could explore some lesser known gold areas- i know many historicial gold areas are very under utilised - love your work mate-cheers
Hi Shane, if I’m pointed in their direction, absolutely! Tyranny of distance tends to make it difficult but if you have suggestions, send them my way and i’ll give them a crack.
Mitchell’s Creek road runs alongside the creek and is fine for 2WD. You will need to access the forest via Sunny Corner Rd. I find Scott’s Creek Rd is the best connecting rd for 2WD.
It’s hard to say as it depends on what the other heavies are (their size and volume). I tend to end up with iron stone filling the hooks of the dream matt and if there is no movement (dancing material), I stop and let it run a while by digging up more material in the mean time. Given time, you usually find that most material works its way out except gold and the really heavy rocks.
@@InSearchOf...Australia so pretty much if i can still see the dancing/ spinning of the material, to continue if not and only heavy material seen empty it.?
Sunny Corner is further away from Sydney than Newcastle is from Sydney. When you say that you are going shopping in Sydney, does that mean you're going shopping in Newcastle?
I could point out that it can take two hours to get across Sydney at times. Sunny Corner, Oallen Ford and Oberon are the closest places you are allowed to fossick in to Sydney.
So why doesn't the title of your video say 'Fossicking Day Trips Out Of Sydney' instead of giving the impression that the fossicking is, in fact, available in Sydney?
That is true. Particularly around Sunny Corner Mine. I’m yet to see obvious evidence at Mitchell’s Creek (eg mercury attached gold) and there are no warning signs like around the mine and immediate waterways like Daylight Creek (I’m very wary about fossicking there). It is a good point.
Makes me laugh these guys spend all the day out there just to say "look there is some gold there!" There look put this under the microscope and you will see its gold Oh right how much is that worth then About $1.50 worth wooohoooo
Like fishing, it’s not all about getting the big one. It’s about being out there and just enjoying the process and the environment with that hint of possible lucky finds. I may have only found $20 worth of gold (actual price) but I felt revived from fresh air, chatting with a fellow prospector and breaking up the routine of working life. That feeling of relaxation and simply being is far more valuable than any monetary value.
@InSearchOf...Australia no one reads the descriptions. Anyway if you want to show your skills you should know where to find gold in the Sydney basin cause it's definitely there.... we don't want the Sydney grubs out here leaving all there rubbish and grot everywhere quiet frank we are sick of the grubs. Stuff all gold at sunny cnr anyway. Probably enough for the beginners but not worth a 2hr drive.

Wow man back in 2003 I did a lot of exploration drilling down in Sunny Corner looking for the precious metal
I’m sure there was more chances to find it then.
Hello there, what a great gift. They cost $ 130. I have been using an even better version of this bucket seive for almost 40 years, regards George
I know. It was incredibly generous. I’m interested in what a better version looks like.
Fantastic video Jason, just wondering if you have tried metal detecting in sunny state or is it a viable option?
Thanks
No, not yet. I’ve considered it but the areas I would try (mines) are inaccessible to my vehicle. I will work out a way to give it a go.
Sure, I would love to watch it.
Would you say accessing Mitchells creek from Sunny Corner Rd or Mitchells creek Rd would be best for 2WD

i always get worried im overloading the sluice. is there a rough many buckets it can take.?

Yes, if material stops spinning, the gold may wash over the top.
i know a great little bend in sunny corner,, also great level camp atea no amenities
Scott’s creek/Mitchell’s Creek junction?
Yes been in there a couple times
Had been smashed by people to bits then 4 yrs ago
Will go back one day to detect the pine Forrest’s
Cheers 🍻

It doesn't seem to refresh easily either. Yes, detecting might be the next step there.
Did you see any “gold tops” asking for a friend …
Can’t say I was looking. Plenty of Fly Agarics “red caps” but you don’t want to play with those.
Sunny Corner is further away from Sydney than Newcastle is from Sydney. When you say that you are going shopping in Sydney, does that mean you're going shopping in Newcastle?
But you can’t fossick for gold in Newcastle. I think you are making a false equivalence with fossicking and shopping.
I'm making a point about the distances, not the activities.

Brevity…thumbnails tend to be more easily seen with less text but I did consider what you said. It’s a fair point. I’ll change it be clearer.
