Hey Fextralife loved the video man! I recently beat the game and now I'm playing NG+. I'm having an issue in which my named weapons can't be upgraded with colorless demon souls with the exceptions of Dragon bone smasher and Makoto. Could it be because those other weapons main stat are under 30?
As a newcomer, thank you for these videos/guides. I absolutely plan on dabbling with these various builds across multiple playthroughs in the coming months!
Thumbs up. My character is a warrior / double barrel approach. 50 str/end 58 luck 18 all else. Main blue blood, tailsman of beasts, +5 dark silver shield, brushwood set or ancient king set or dark silver helm, armor with Mirdan gauntlets and greaves. Double barrel is Morion Blade, or +5 Kris blade, insanity catalyst, old monk helm, clever rat ring, ally ring/ring of magical sharpness. Soul ray and anti magic. I use a +5 adjudicator shield to raise my HP to just meet the 30% buffs then remove it. Fresh spice after the 2 shots, but soul ray hits like a dump truck. Perfect for false king and blue/red dragon. Plus anyone can use the strategy since it’s damage is all gear based.
Fextralife is so awesome! Not only for the Souls series and Bloodborne but, for giving great guidance for Sekiro especially in the Demon of Hatered boss fight! Once I get my hands on the ps5, these guides are saved and I can revisit them for great build ups! Thanks 👍
The mid-game shouldn’t be too bad if you clear world 2 as well as 1-2 before going to 5-1. By the time you reach Astrea you’ll have all of the stat requirements and can then clear out the rest of the game with the sword. Crescent falchion is OP so your damage will be good as well.
I am watching your videos and I am now realizing I understand this game a lot more than I thought, but playing the original on PS3 as a young teenager really helped out too. In short I thought I always sucked at the game I just liked it to much to quit but I guess I got good.
This build is really cool, but getting the sword is mid game at least. I'm going to give it a shot anyway, as the sword looks really good, plus having such a stat spread allows so much flexibility that its tough to get bored. I wonder if the gold coin luck glitch still works...
I have played with every build but the lucky build and using blueblood sword full time. I'm not sure if going as a female using valkyrie armor or as a male using Old King Doran's armor. Uhhhh . Also I could try a build with focus on stamina(~60) to be able to use the heaviest armor in the game without the need to use those two rings ...
Brilliant upload 👍 I'm on ng + 5 and only now aquired the bluebook sword 😂 all my stats apart from Luck are ok so if I'm going to invest in a build around it I'd better get slaying more enemy to level up 😤 trust me to not bother investing in luck yet felt others stats were more important, I'm having a ball enjoying experimenting with all the weapons and even tho I'm at + 5 my skills in this game are aweful 😅 i hate the tendency system with a passion yet outer all the soul series this is my favourite, iv played them all and this was the only one id not had the pleasure of playing, Your video is much appreciated as a referal when i come to making a character around the blueblood sword so thank you 🤗 iv smashed that sub button uv earned it 👊👌
People who grew up with this game must of had the issue of needing to wait till christmas to get it since they didn't have any money as a kid, now they have the money but can't buy the console anyway.
So, I had a crazy idea for NG+. I played as a mage who then went for a battlemage-ish build (very similar to your HSA Samurai). But then I thought "what if..." and bumped stats to hold the BBS. It's a crazy approach, but it's really fun as a Battle Mage. Call him the Blue Light Mage.
Considering Luck was my favorite build in DS3, I was a bit sad that DeS didn't have a viable one - until I learned about the Blueblood Sword! Of course, in DS3 I also use status, mainly bleed, as it's governed by luck as well, but Anri's Straight Sword usually was just better anyway in terms of damage. Guess after my Miralda cosplay build, which is my first time actually playing the game, I'll try to run a Luck build as outlined here.
Is it advisable for a 'beginner' to try out this build? I'm familiar with the Souls series, beat Bloodborne and Dark Souls 2, but just mediocre at the game. Contemplating if it's worth the hassle. Thanks in advance!
@@Fextralife thanks for the input! Just beat the first boss with the temple knight class, deleted it and started with the royal class. Life has never been this kind to me. A soul arrow, followed up with some swordplay and watch your enemies die helplessly. Just beat the second boss, both didn't stand a chance. Think I'll try a battlemage build, since think the sorcerer build won't be that engaging since you'll do most of the work long range. I've never used magic in a souls game before, but I'm loving it in combination with weapons so far!
Is there a level cap for each playthrough? I know the returns for grinding are subject to diminishing returns, but is there a point where levelling becomes so bad you might as well start NG+?
10:40 Up to this point, you're playing the basic Spellsword. (I'm just going to have to throw in a ™ for Bethesda, since it ultimately comes from somewhere in Tamriel. Depends who you ask, and when you ask them.) With Royalty, or Magician, this is what you end up with. The Blueblood sword is an interesting choice, but the Crescent Broadsword is much more stat efficient. Basically, it'll do everything the Blueblood Sword will do, and give you more ticks of Magicka back, without investing in Luck, (Or glitching it out to 1-shot territory) Neat build, but I call the Blueblood/Luck part of it Optional. You're just as better with Northern Regalia, and using your Tendency instead of leveling a stat.
The point of these Builds is to show how to play them. I was asked to make one for this Weapon so I did that. In no way did I say it's the best weapon and everyone should use it.
@@simplyshane6477 I don't have a max level dueling build yet, unfortunately. However, they do have lots of lower level builds, if it should ever come up... No real beef, though. Mostly just a misunderstanding, until we cleared that up.
@mikeisu IDK, in Demon's Souls, you can get most stats up to the soft cap at 30. DS-3, the soft cap is 40. That's where the 120 Meta came from, 30x40 (For Vitality, Endurance, and Dex) was enough for a Pure build, but barely enough for a Quality, or Hybrid build. (Not counting starting stats, and Royalty. In DS3, the SL1 class was Deprived.) I'm thinking it should be about 100.
Ian P which cost 18k each time. Lol. I'm still surprised they kept clothing, soul farming boosting clothing as well, gender locked. Especially since they made the character creator so all inclusive and fluid, it was surprising they kept clothing like that.
Eh I used the sword but with a 50%weight melee build, basically only casting magic sword. Now in ng+ maybe I'll get some mana for spells and attunement slots.
excellent! I am a pro at every single FROM title after demons souls...I played about 1/3 of this game back in the days on ps3....this is exactly what I needed to make the remake interesting. thx Castielle, great job mate!
You do realize that the capture is from the ps5 output and not a screen capture from a tv screen, also you're watching a youtube compression of the original source. Essentially, you're seeing a downgrade of the actual graphical fidelity and that is pure ps5 muscle, not a tv.
Is anyone else annoyed that they got the Falchion design right for Demon's Souls, then proceeded to butcher it for all three Dark Souls games after that?
So long as you meet the requirements and invest in luck, yeah. Light weapon will increase the damage more as well. Just use insanity catalyst instead of beasts talisman.
Not easy to put together? I mean OG Blighttown is pretty cancer but you don't even need to upgrade the broken sword (don't think you can anyway) and you just need to parry Velstadt while hyper mode and then easy win. Or just cheese Astraea with arrows lol
Blueblood with light weapon will 2-3 shot most phantoms at level 60, and will continue to do so as you level magic. You have the faith points required to use second chance. Only problem is short range but it has the very fast attacks to make up for it, running/backstep 1 handed r1 is one of the best pokes in the game for pvp. All around amazing weapon/build for pvp, just dont get 1 shot by the all in strength builds running around at low levels.
For low levels, it's really hard to use this since you end up squishier than jelly. At mid-level and beyond, it's ridiculously good thanks to a fast and versatile moveset combined with great DPS with Enchant/Light Weapon. Blueblood Sword is kind of the OG Greatsword of Artorias in that it has notoriously obnoxious wielding requirements but potentially incredible payoff if built around it.
How do I get the blueblood sword? I have the broken sword and the pureblood soul but when I go talk to blacksmith Ed there is no option to fix the broken sword. What am I doing wrong?

I did all of first game cycle maining kris blade, silver cat and monks headwrap with the ring which boosts magic damage and reduces magic resistance. Obviously acquired em as I went on but I have just been dodging and smashing a heavy fireball towards end game. Mega dps but a gamble on the defence.
