Many happy memories.....something quite special about the grubby appearance of the locos compared to the corporate perfection of today!! Left this station many times in my early teens on Merrymakers tours....furthest I went was Paignton and I was only 13/14 at the time. Imagine this happening today!

I seem to recall a really husky female voice doing the announcements at Sheffield in the 1980's. She even used to mention "chip butties"....love the Peaks.
