i'm not gainsaying anything but would you believe that its a big thing in Indonesia (at least) partaking cuppa 'kopi luwak' aka civet coffee, which have been eaten and defecated by the Asian palm civet. yeah parallels to the elephant turd thingy, its a thing but surely NOT pricey 😂
there is a small animal - I believe somewhere in South America - that does naturally eat coffee beans and poops them out. and for many people around the world it's a costly delicacy..sorry, I don't recall the name of the animal of tthe coffee but at least it's not force fed. I can't stand that elephants are being exploited in yet another way. they're such amazing, beautiful beings and deserve to be respected, loved & protected.

It’s a little (lot) concerning that they’re adding the beans to their feed so that the animals don’t have a choice. If it’s not part of their normal diet then adding a stimulant in massive quantities borders (is) on abuse when they might not have access to bean free food sources. I believe the wild civets in Indonesia originally chose to eat wild coffee berries but now the animals are being captured and caged and force fed and the mortality rate is high. Whenever animals are utilised in this manner things usually head south for them. Choice is the key and where coffee farmers are concerned they chose it for lots of reasons. It may still be a limited choice in some areas but not forced. Good on you for shining a light on this.

Wasn't the Elephant coffee mentioned in the movie, "The Bucket List". One of the very wealthy characters would only drink that coffee. Many people, who saw the movie, could feel affluent if they also drank that coffee.
The reason that I change my own oil is because I can. No line. A 14mm wrench and an oil filter wrench. 5 quarts of 10w 30 oil, and an oil filter. Your engine might need more oil. You might have to remove the skid plate. But if you can slide under you probably dont have to.

I have lived in Panama in the Highlands. Actually as the way the crow flies about 10 miles on the other side of the ridge you live on. My mother owned 1500 Hector above Cierra panda. It's now mt tatumas cloud Forrest retreat. Joining the national Forest. I was there in 05,06 but came home with a lot of regrets. Only coffee we had was at a lower elevation. The home was at 6300 ft .in two years I was able to see puenta barreicka(?) two times out of the front door because of the baha reeking.(rain from beneath,or in the clouds. Do love following your channel. My youngest son was almost born in David, but left due to minor complications Mom was having. I miss the dark nights, rainy season , windy season and no doubt the little bit of dry. God bless your little family and that jungle boy.Be safe in your travels. It’s another craze; similar to civet cat coffee - not a natural process. Civets and elephants are not being fed coffee beans to save their species. When on a tour in Vietnam we were all offered civet cat coffee, I actually left the premises, found another coffee shop with another traveller and waited there for the everyone. I believe most did not partake of the ‘coffee’.

A few years ago the rage was kopi luwat, $100+ a cup (wild foraged "cat" or civet poop coffee ... the civet picks the berries). Thailand is using elephants to capture the gut biome fermentation process for the beans; voila, $2000/kilogram. So ... Moo Moo has a new job making Lola's Farm "Extra Smooth"??

There are a ton of exploitative elephant businesses in Thailand. It’s sickening 🙁 I volunteered at a completely fake and abusive elephant “sanctuary” and learned a lot. The dung coffee is just a novelty.

Wasn't the Elephant coffee mentioned in the movie, "The Bucket List". One of the very wealthy characters would only drink that coffee. Many people, who saw the movie, could feel affluent if they also drank that coffee.

The reason that I change my own oil is because I can. No line. A 14mm wrench and an oil filter wrench. 5 quarts of 10w 30 oil, and an oil filter. Your engine might need more oil. You might have to remove the skid plate. But if you can slide under you probably dont have to.

I have lived in Panama in the Highlands. Actually as the way the crow flies about 10 miles on the other side of the ridge you live on. My mother owned 1500 Hector above Cierra panda. It's now mt tatumas cloud Forrest retreat. Joining the national Forest. I was there in 05,06 but came home with a lot of regrets. Only coffee we had was at a lower elevation. The home was at 6300 ft .in two years I was able to see puenta barreicka(?) two times out of the front door because of the baha reeking.(rain from beneath,or in the clouds. Do love following your channel. My youngest son was almost born in David, but left due to minor complications Mom was having. I miss the dark nights, rainy season , windy season and no doubt the little bit of dry. God bless your little family and that jungle boy.Be safe in your travels. Thank you so much for the in-depth explanation. I have never been attracted to coffee that has been fermented in elephant digestive systems and pooped out. The whole thing seems simply unethical to me. YIKES!

It’s another craze; similar to civet cat coffee - not a natural process. Civets and elephants are not being fed coffee beans to save their species. When on a tour in Vietnam we were all offered civet cat coffee, I actually left the premises, found another coffee shop with another traveller and waited there for the everyone. I believe most did not partake of the ‘coffee’.

Well I would not like to drink coffee that was filtered through an elephant. Question is how did they discover this. Did they run coffee beans through different kinds of animals and found that Elephants gave it the best flavour and best of all who was the first person to drink the first coffee they made.

A few years ago the rage was kopi luwat, $100+ a cup (wild foraged "cat" or civet poop coffee ... the civet picks the berries). Thailand is using elephants to capture the gut biome fermentation process for the beans; voila, $2000/kilogram. So ... Moo Moo has a new job making Lola's Farm "Extra Smooth"??

I volunteered at a completely fake and abusive elephant “sanctuary” and learned a lot. The dung coffee is just a novelty.
