It evolved from italodisco in late 80s and 90s became "super" euroB with faster BPM, elements of trance and eurodance/trance synthesizers as those genres were Mainstays at the time but SEB is slightly "stricter" in the sense of certain tropes like punctuated and embellished brass, always 4/4 with a softer kick and square bass is what makes it easier to distinguish because other EDM depends heavily on the embellished kick drum or bass notes where in SEB they are less focal point bc the melody and sabi drive SEB where most other genres I noticed the exact opposite. The cowbells and disco groove is gone in SEB but the "tom drum" remains, usually sampled every 16 measures. At least that's my take.😅 ✌️
